El Socorro Beach is an idyllic stretch of black-sand beach, nestled in a crescent-shaped bay on the rugged Tenerife coastline. The lapping water and peaceful atmosphere is ideal for families, while the rocky beach break past the reef makes it popular with surfers. El Socorro Beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag award. The beach is located in Los Realejos and is a 40-minute drive from Santa Cruz. Parking is available. The route to the beach is particularly scenic, passing through banana plantations and haciendas and along a coastal road where mountains roll into the sea.
