El Serrat is a mountainous village in Ordino, Andorra at the head of the El Serrat valley. Explore the vast ski slopes of Arcalis and marvel at spectacular views over lakes and ridges. During summer, discover abundant nature on scenic hiking trails through lush, hilly terrain. Year-round, enjoy outstanding Andorran cuisine in restaurants with epic mountain vistas. In the snow season, visitors flock to El Serrat, eager to ski or snowboard at the popular Vallnord-Arcalis Ski Resort. This is a 10-minute uphill drive from the village. Each year, the quantity of snow at Arcalis is outstanding due to its high altitude. Take on 2,245 feet (685 metres) of vertical descent, accessible by numerous chair lifts. If you are a novice skier, practice on the Megaverde, a 5-mile (8-kilometre) long run for beginners. There is also a snowmobile circuit here and the Family Park with theme circuits for children. During Europe’s warmer months, the Andorran climate is mild and therefore suitable for hiking. Follow one of the easy and picturesque walking trails from El Serrat to the Tristaina Lakes. Signs clearly mark each path and a full circuit takes 2 hours. Pass by tumbling waterfalls and rustic stone bridges, picnic in green valleys and dive into crystal-blue lakes at the end of your trek.
