Staff was amazing and the food surprises us, the room was good. It will be better if the toilet was separate. But in general we had an amazing and relaxing vacations. We stay at the coral level and upgraded to a front beach room. They also add a sargassum barrier and it really help us enjoy the beach.

Horrible Experience — Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana Needs Serious Attention Our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana was extremely disappointing. For a hotel carrying the Hard Rock name and reputation, the condition of this property and the level of service were nowhere near the standards I would expect from an internationally recognized brand. The maintenance and overall condition of the buildings are not up to par. There are areas throughout the property that clearly need attention and investment. Hard Rock corporate seriously needs to send someone to this property to evaluate what is happening and bring the resort back up to the standards expected from the Hard Rock brand. The food quality was also disappointing. With the size and reputation of this resort, I expected much better quality and consistency. The customer service was one of the biggest problems. Staff generally seemed to do the bare minimum, and getting basic issues addressed was unnecessarily difficult. Our room was not cleaned for 3–4 days, despite us calling repeatedly every day to request housekeeping. That is completely unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. We also had significant problems with one of our rooms. The TV did not work and the phone did not work, meaning we couldn't even call the front desk from the room to report problems. We had to find other ways to get assistance. Another guest in our group had termites in their room. From our understanding, the situation was handled by providing

The resort is very nice and feels fairly new. The staff is excellent, and I booked through Expedia, which included a butler named Raul. He was outstanding and made our stay much more enjoyable. The biggest downside was the beach. During this time of year, it wasn’t very clean, and unlike many resorts in the U.S., the beach wasn’t cleaned every morning. Another drawback was getting around the property. The walk from the rooms to the lobby and restaurants can be quite long. Golf carts are available every few minutes, but you may still find yourself waiting or walking quite a bit. The restaurants were excellent, but keep in mind that most are only open for dinner and require reservations, so plan ahead. One piece of advice: stay away from the people in green shirts trying to sell the travel club membership. They will spend a lot of time trying to convince you to join, with memberships starting around $15,000. For us, it was a complete waste of time and not worth sitting through the sales presentation. Overall, we had a great stay thanks to the beautiful resort, excellent staff, and exceptional service from Raul. Just be prepared for the long walks, make your dinner reservations early, and politely decline the travel club presentation if you’re not interested.
