It’s more like a bed and breakfast. We planned an early start for a day hike and needed to pack some lunch for the trails. There was no fridge in the room and they didn’t offer any place for guest storage. The breakfast was very basic and bland. We had a view of bins out the window. The room door was loose so banged all night due to strong winds. The staff demand that you give your key to reception whenever you leave the building, but then hang the keys behind the reception (which is sometimes unattended) which didn´t feel very secure. There are a lot of rules considering it is a hotel for customers and not a school for children. Even so, the facilities were another story. I found a defective toilet, the sink was broken and moved from side to side and could not stand, and a very uncomfortable bathroom. The heater didn't turn on and the wifi didn't stay connected. For what I paid I would have expected to have a better room. The rooms are small (not enough floor space to even fully open your suitcase). The shower space is small. Toilet had several issues but the manager who is very kind and attentive helped quickly. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable and could use newer sheets and towels. Breakfast is not sufficient to prepare for a full day of hiking so don’t depend solely on it. Although of course of the cheaper ends, would still expect a bit more care. We experienced something that we have never seen before. On check out, the desk person went to check out the room and returned to tell us that two small towels were missing and we were going to get charged. After doing our best to argue that the maid replaced a small towel with a large towel she continued to blame us. No reasoning skills at all and she continued to blame us. Being rushed to catch our bus outta town we just left. Im not sure if this was a scam to charge more money or incompetent workers at the place. Buyer beware! The heating system was really good,m for peak winter stays, there is a small gas heating system in each room but for some reason it was impossible to turn off in my room and it was not that pleasant with 15 degrees outside. No daily cleaning services. Overall I saw very small care for the clients, being lactose intolerant I have asked if the breakfast includes dairy free alternatives as soon I checked in. The day after the indicated me some milk as lactose free when in reality it was just standard milk, just after starting drinking it a realized it when I had already ingested some. They actually had some almond milk in the kitchen that they showed up later on my complaints. No possibility to do breakfast box in a place where most of the people go to hike before 7am.
