The Space
This cottage stands apart from the standard Edisto Beach rental and is the one your group remembers well after checkout. Set beneath a dense, jungle-like canopy of historic live oaks and palmetto palms, this three bedroom two bathroom retreat offers genuine privacy and proximity to the Atlantic in equal measure. You are a three minute stroll—just 600 yards—to Beach Access 32. Because the property is positioned strategically near the shore, you can walk to the beach for the warm sand and salt air while your morning coffee is still hot. This is a space designed for those who value the quiet side of the island without sacrificing quick access to the water.
Where You Sleep
Two queen bedrooms anchor the main floor, each bright and comfortably appointed for restful nights. The main queen bedroom features a classic coastal white shuttered headboard and soft, warm lighting. A dedicated kids bunk room with a twin over twin and trundle gives families space to spread out without compromise. To ensure the house is staged perfectly for your arrival, please communicate your preferred bed setup (2 Queens, 1 Queen and 2 Twins, or 2 Queens and 3 Twins) once your booking is confirmed. Two full bathrooms complete the layout, one featuring a walk in shower and the other a tub combo. An outdoor hot and cold rinse station handles the grit so nobody tracks the shoreline inside.
The Outdoor Experience
The ground level distinguishes this property from every other home on the block. We have created a shaded downstairs entertainment lounge complete with a large black picnic style dining table, bar seating, a double swing, cornhole, bocce, and oversized Jenga. Hammock space is strung between the oaks for quiet afternoons. Above, two generous decks offer a morning coffee perch and a golden hour cocktail view. We encourage using both. While enjoying the outdoor space, keep an eye out for the local deer that frequently wander through the tree-lined yard.
Gear Already Here (The "Pro-Kit")
Pack light because the essentials are handled. We provide high-quality beach chairs, umbrellas, and a Cool Cabana shade tent. For easier transport to the sand, we offer a specialized, heavy-duty large-wheeled aluminum wagon that easily handles the soft Edisto sand. You will also find fishing rods, a hammock, Micro scooters for the kids, riding toys, and beach towels waiting when you arrive. For dining, we provide a traditional Weber charcoal grill and a separate propane burner with a stock pot—perfect for a proper Lowcountry seafood boil under the trees.
The Neighborhood
The location is highly walkable and near the heart of island life. Stroll over to Whaley’s when the appetite arrives or head to Bay Creek Park and the Edisto Marina for sunset. For a local tradition, the Edisto Island Lions Club Bingo starts at 6 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays just a short walk away. Public shoreline access and tidal creeks are all within easy reach. If you crave a city afternoon, historic downtown Charleston sits under an hour away with world-class dining and galleries worth the drive.
Boaters and Anglers
This is the property you bring your vessel to. We offer generous boat trailer parking on-site with easy access to the marina and nearby tidal creeks. This area is famous for island hopping and coastal exploration. Chase redfish and trout at first light, then watch the sky shift colors from the water that evening.
