There is also a very handy bus stop about 200 metres away. The area was very quiet and well looked after.The flat itself was well equipped with lots of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. the only thing that missing, as in so many properties, was a hand towel in the kitchen! The perfect view on the castle and the old town is a little encumbered by nearby trees, but that's all – if you're surprised by the stairs and no elevator you did not read closely enough :) Biggest plus is the bus stop with regular connection to the city centre around the corner (two lines, 15 minute drive), the big shopping centre just across the street and two gas stations in the immediate surrounding. This was our first trip to Edinburgh for our family. The apartment was perfect as it is super clean, large enough for a family of 4 adults to spread out a bit. It is in a great location just around the corner from a bus stop that will take you right in to the Center of Edinburgh. Uber rides were also very affordable from the apartment location to the heart of Edinburgh. There is a large grocery as well as a pharmacy and a Starbucks just a couple of minutes walk away. The grocery store has everything you might need including delicious pastries. Fiona gave great instructions on accessing the apartment upon our arrival and there is a dedicated parking spot in the apartment car park should you have a car. The apartment is super quiet. We never saw nor heard another neighbour. The only thing I would give a heads up about is the apartment is located on the 3rd floor without elevator. It wasn’t a problem for us as we are all in decent shape but if you have any physical limitations it could make things a bit difficult. ##### Paul A.
