We were sent an email before arrival telling us which car park was nearest and the hotel have a discounted rate. So after a 5 hour drive that’s where we parked on 30.12 23. When we checked out in 01.01. 24 we were informed the car park was locked till 03.01.24 no one had told us . The hotel did nothing to help us we had to arrange a hire car ourselves as we had work the next day.then we had to make a trip 9 hours total back to drop the hire car off and collect our car. This is poor service from the Accor group and will be seeking compensation.

Hotel was in a convenient location. 25 min walk to start of Princess Street. Staff good and helpful . Nice breakfast . Room disappointing as it was very small , heating didn’t seem to work room was cold.

Good location. Did not like room at all - window faced a wall so was very dark. Bathroom door was broke and didn’t shut fully. Bathroom was a wet room which I don’t like and didn’t find very clean. TV only worked intermittently. Housekeeping opened door without knocking whilst I was getting dressed.

I booked this as a special treat for my daughter’s birthday. On arriving in our room there were water marks all over the wall and areas that it had clearly been patched up but not decorated properly. There were also stains on the sheets. Our room was freezing so I was going to call reception but discovered no phone in the room so had to get dressed (was in my pyjamas) and go down to reception to ask for help. The lady on reception was very helpful and came up to help sort out the heating. The next morning I wanted to use the hairdryer. However, I soon discovered that was broken. I called reception using my mobile phone and they said they would send up a replacement. After waiting for nearly half an hour I gave up and went out with wet hair. Finally, on the last morning we flushed the toilet and water just get pouring into the toilet and it then wouldn’t flush. We were checking out anyway so I told the lady at reception and she was very apologetic and offered us a small discount. However, for the cost of around £300 for two nights I felt that the discount wasn’t very much. I would definitely think twice before booking another Mercury hotel.

We were staying for a night out in town, when we went into the cupboard for the ironing board there was a dirty towel on the floor and receipts from another date and horrible dirty marks on the floor in front of the table. Shame as had great potential at first glance and staff were lovely.

The hotel itself was lovely unfortunately for the money paid the room wasn't quite up to par. Big crack across sliding door, paint coming off the ceiling in bathroom and not the same carpet etc advertised on website. Still a nice hotel just our room needed touching up a bit.

Location OK, Hotel needs improvement
Initially we were given an underground room, which was fixed immediately. Can’t complain about customer service. They are limited to with they have in hands. Limited on technology. Mattress will make you remember the hotel. No cover sheet…direct to comforter. Overall room is small, bathroom does not have an exhaustion vent. If 2 takes a hot shower - prepare to open the window. I’d suggest you check on recent reviews to see if they’ve improved.

Not worth the money paid. The room was nice. The breakfast wasn’t fully stocked. The kitchen stopped serving eggs and there was little hot food available. The staff were rude when we asked for eggs , staff were eating at the same time as guests in the restaurant. It’s not what you would expect for a hotel of this standard, it is in a good location but the walk from the car park and to princess street was very dark. I wouldn’t recommend for solo travelers

Stayed here for one night in August and sadly did not have the best experience. Once checked in our room key did not work multiple times which put us behind schedule, the member of staff who helped us was helpful and apologetic however. Slept terribly as it was a hot weekend the AC only stayed on for about 30 seconds. Also about 6am there was loud noises, sounded like it could’ve been pipes as we were a basement room end of corridor. Staff member checking us out barley said one word, didn’t ask how our stay was which was a shame cause everyone at check in was lovely. Room itself was nice, modern and clean.

Definitely recommend
The location is great. Nearest Car park is about 5mins away but the hotel have an arrangement so mine was £11 for overnight parking so not too bad for city centre! Hotel was lovely; staff very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. A bit expensive but probably just city centre prices. I would definitely stay here again.

The welcome from staff and reception was fantastic until we went to our room, there was a very strong smell coming from the toilet everytime we flushed, there was make up all up the curtains and the bed felt like laying on a plank of wood.
