Holiday in Ede
Ede is a great place for nature lovers. Cycle along the many bicycle routes in the Veluwe, visit one of the nature reserves with the kids or go horse riding. There are also a number of interesting museums and points of interest nearby.
Ede is located in a region that was inhabited by hunters and gathers for centuries. If you’re interested in the town's history and how it developed over time, don't miss Historisch Museum Ede. It's great with or without the kids.
An absolute must is the famous Kröller-Müller Museum, which is home to the world’s second largest collection of paintings and drawings by Van Gogh! It also has works by other great masters. Because the museum is in the park De Hoge Veluwe, you can combine a visit to the museum with a day outdoors.
Enjoy a spectacular view of the surroundings from look-out De Valenberg. You might even spot some of the park’s wildlife such as boar and deer. You can also explore the nature around Ede on horseback, for example, in Planken Wambuis.
The stunning nature around Ede provides for unforgettable views. Hire a bicycle, go on a hike, or tour the area by car. If you'd like a change of scenery, cities such as Arnhem, Utrecht and Amersfoort are near by. If you drive to Ede, you can park on the street or in one of the parking garages for a fee.
Ede’s central location makes it easy to reach by public transport and car. If you’re travelling by car, you can take the A12 from the north of the Netherlands or the A50 from the west. If you’re travelling by train, station Ede-Wageningen is within walking distance of the city centre.
However you decide to travel, Ede is the perfect base to explore the nature in this part of the Netherlands.
