The Big E or Eastern States Exposition is held every fall in Springfield, Mass for 17 days. There is a gate fee to get in but the prices vary on the day so if your planning on going, you have the option to check for a cheaper day. Even though the name of the fair is 'Eastern States', it features only the New England states: Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island. Each state has it's own building to promote activities, events and businesses, as well as food. The fair's main purpose is agriculture: animal showings/competitions, tractors, produce. However, there are plenty of vendors selling fair food and plenty of things to purchase as souvenirs and for your home.
