The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't deterred our lust for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with the new challenges of travelling:

• Before committing to anything, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your origin and destination. Keep informed with the latest updates by checking official government websites.
• You must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer. Instead, position the pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Empty your personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, phone and small change, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
