"My expectations were low. It’s like going to a movie you think will be a stinker and it actually turns out to be good. This place was so much fun. It’s near 200-years old and you can tell in a few places. The floors are horribly out of level. They are like a rolling hill and from max to min, I would guess 18inches. But when you realize you are staying in a hotel that four Presidents including Grant slept in, those crazy floors just make it real. It was clean, comfortable. The staff was very friendly, especially the person who checked us in. I came back to the desk and she was helping some people who appeared to have used a scam site to book and they were happy, because she was putting in effort to help them. So, set your expectations low, just so you can be pleasantly surprised."

"Beautiful, quiet spot up on the hillside overlooking the valley. My wife and I came up to check out the Kingdom mountain bike trails and were not disappointed. The house is an easy 15-20 min drive to the trails, as well as the bike shop, cafes, and small market in East Burke. It was helpful having all-wheel drive getting up the hill to the house, and once there check in was incredibly easy, and the house was super clean and well appointed with all new appliances. The electric cooktop took a little getting used to - it got a little smoky making dinner the first night. It was great having everything we needed in the kitchen to make all of our meals. The outdoor shower was a nice bonus, too, after a day riding in the middle of summer."
