When you stay at this townhouse near Purgatory Resort, you’ll be perfectly positioned to take advantage of all of the areas outdoor activities, regardless of the season. In addition, you and your loved ones will enjoy access to a shared pool, hot tub & fitness facility, plentiful mountain views and all of the standard home comforts. Located within a short walk of the ski slopes (the walk takes approximately 5-8 minutes - with skis) of Purgatory Resort, this vacation rental is great for groups who plan to spend a lot of time on the mountain, whether skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, or hiking. The shops and restaurants of the resort itself are can easily be reached on foot, while the city of Durango is less than 30 miles south. The interior of this charming townhouse is family friendly and we have gone to great lengths to provide comfort and amenities that will make your stay memorable. Clean furnishings, a large open living area, amenities galore, outdoor furniture & a grill, and mountain decor create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. In the living room, a two comfy sofas & an oversized ottoman invite you to put your feet up and lounge while you browse the channels on the flat screen TV or catch up on social media using the complimentary Wi-Fi. During the colder months use the blankets provided throughout our home to snuggle up as you read a book or rest after a day spent making memories. After a long day on the mountain, the fully equipped kitchen is ready to help you prepare a hearty, home-cooked meal. A clean and efficiently organized kitchen make it easy to cook for your group. Sit down to eat at the dining room table, or grab one of the three chairs at the kitchen counter. There is a great bench and outdoor furniture to add to the seating. From the dining area, step out onto the covered outdoor patio. A gas grill is available if anyone in your group wants to show off their barbecuing skills. There also a small table and multiple chairs, making this a prime location to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. We have a hammock you can string up and a gas fire pit for added ambiance. With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, this vacation rental can accommodate up to eleven guests (there is one bed in the living room, two full size beds/bunks in one room, a twin daybed, a queen futon, a queen couch sleeper, a playpen and two chairs that convert to a twin mattress. There is not a maximum number of adults (except the capacity of 11, not counting an infant), but it is a comfy, cozy 900 sq. foot condo with only one full bath, so please keep that in mind when booking. We want you to enjoy the space as much as possible and ONLY you will know how many adults in the above space equals comfort for your party. The area around Purgatory Resort is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true. In the winter, you’ll have access to 1,360 acres of snowy wonderland, perfect for downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and dog sledding. Give your legs a break when you go for a sleigh ride or a snowmobile adventure. We have lots of literature on the amenities available and after booking I’d be happy to help you with our personal recommendations. Visiting in summer? Start your morning with a few laps in the shared pool, then head out for a scenic hike or an adrenaline-fueled afternoon of mountain biking. Go for a horseback ride, or take the day off and spend a few hours in Durango shopping and perusing the beer and dining scene. You will have access to a shared pool, hot tub and fitness facility. Please note this is our personal home away from home. We are a family of six and sports keeps us from enjoying the condo more often. We ask that you treat the house as if it was yours. We also have neighbors we need to get along with for the foreseeable future and so keeping respectful hours, cleaning up trash and being a generally nice person would be appreciated. We are very close by and will do everything we can to keep you comfortable. We do have some personal items clearly labeled as such and we ask that you please let them undisturbed. We are in a bottom floor condominium, so access is easier, but on a rare occasion we do hear our neighbors upstairs. It’s never disturbed us, but in important to note. The crawl space for the entire unit is behind one of the doors in our place, so if there was an emergency the property manager would need access. You will use a personal code sent 1-2 days prior to your arrival to the August Lock to open the door. We have four kids so we understand accidental things and wear and tear, but negligence or theft is different. You are limited to two cars in the parking lot of the condo and will have parking permits provided for you upon opening the condo. These are a $10 replacement charge each if you take them or lose them (we have to purchase more from our property association). We will provide a list of house rules, amenities and further information on booking. Erica's ski condo is in a great location to ski at Purgatory. We were able to walk to the lifts! This was a luxury for us. Being from AZ, we have to drive to our AZ ski resorts. We felt like were were staying at a friend's! The layout of the condo is a little different than most, but we thought it was great! Be aware that there are not really traditional bedrooms, but plenty of space and sleeping areas for a family or close knit group. And just the one bathroom. Unit was tricky to find, but Erica guided us to it upon arrival. Well stocked and very clean unit. The back room actually worked out very well for us. Noise from upstairs unit was a litttle loud at times, but nothing too crazy. Just kids walking around in what sounded like ski boots. Location was walkable to everything in Purgatory that we wanted to do and just a short drive from Durango and from other cute areas. Lots of places for kids to sleep in this condo and a huge common area to hang out in. I would say that this condo is good for only one family at a time, due to the way the sleeping space is setup, but that really works for us. Great property - just as described. Nice little touches (Legos, games, extremely well-stocked kitchen, cute little signs & instructions). The entire property is SO well-organized. Purgatory is such a gorgeous location! Everywhere you go from there is amazing! Jeep trails with breathtaking views, the summer activities at Purgatory Resort, the adorable town of Silverton, the gorgeous drive to Ouray, Baker's Bridge, playing in creeks and waterfalls where ever we went, there is no end to what you can do here! We also experienced amazingly prompt communication from Erica (our host). We had a little bit of an issue getting in upon arrival and she was SO fast to respond and get everything worked out. I really appreciated her immediate answers every time we needed anything. If you're confused about the bedroom description . . . there is one real bedroom containing double-sized bunk beds & a daybed. At the back of that bedroom is a large walk-through closet (which contains 3 mattresses against the wall that we didn't use), through that closet is a little bonus space with a futon and a TV. There is also a queen bed and a sofa sleeper (which we also didn't use) in the HUGE living room. My 9yr old son LOVED the bonus space because the drawers under the bed were full of Legos and he didn't have to share a space (or a TV) with his siblings. But he did have to walk through the closet, the room where his siblings slept, the living room where my husband and I slept and finally through the dining room any time he needed to go to the bathroom, but he didn't seem to mind at all. All in all, it was a great experience, at a reasonable price, in a perfect location, with a great host. We would definitely stay here again!! ##### Vickie B. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub & restaurants.The house was well appointed, organized & pretty clean. The beds were a little small for teenage boys & the bed that my husband and I slept on in the living room had a foam mattress that was not comfortable. As a family of 7 with three teenagers we were not used to sharing one bathroom. That was really the only downside. We had an amazing weekend here! It was a short walk to the slopes, every bed was comfy and they provided us with blankets and towels galore! Also had Toys and games and sleds for the kids which was amazing! Ericka had great communication before, during, and after our trip! Only thing that the listing doesn’t really express is that the 2nd bedroom is only accessible through the other bedroom. There is a door that closes to it, but if you have to use the restroom in the middle of the night you have to walk through bedroom 1 to get out to the main area. We are a large family so it wasn’t a big deal, but had we come with a friends group it would’ve been uncomfortable. All around, it was a wonderful condo and we are likely to return! Unlike many generic rentals in the area, we really felt like the owners were opening their home to us with so many small personal touches and items there. (Ice pack in the freezer for a ski injury was much appreciated!) Checkin/out was simple, location was a short walk to the lifts was easy. We found it very comfortable for our family of four (I think we could have fit another half dozen kids with all he beds around the place). The only negatives were that the unit was a little dated and dark. Location was great for skiing. Unit was well stocked with lots of comfy blankets. Overall, it met expectations. ##### lara g.
