My family stayed here when my niece was married here. I enjoyed our experience so much that I wanted to go back with just my husband and I. It was clean, cozy, quiet and the breakfast was great! Can’t say enough good things about this place.
One of a kind away from Durango by about 20 mins. This place is quite, clean and has all the touches of home. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and no matter what time I was outside, I could hear so many birds singing. We truly appreciated the care that the owners put into this property.
Amazing stay! Went on a mini honeymoon and the staff was lovely. They have special envelopes with your name on it stating information you may need during your stay. Their office hours are from 9am-4pm and breakfast is served from 8am-9am and it’s delicious they have a variety of foods to choose from and it’s different everyday. Highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

Thanks for your feedback. We are glad you had a great stay at our property. Hope you choose our location for your next visit to Durango.
It’s just as beautiful and picturesque as the pictures. However, we had three main issues with our stay. When we arrived it had been cleaned just not very well. The upstairs carpet is stained and old and didn’t have vacuum lines. I’m a former house cleaner so I can tell when a room has been vacuumed. Everything was pretty dusty and there was hair and dust on the ground. Basically you can tell the sheets were clean and the toilets it just needed a deep clean.
The food was edible but not great.
The biggest issue we had was that we stayed in the Mountain View room which is connected by one door to another room (the piñon room I believe) and we could hear literally everything going on in that apartment. To the degree that one morning they must have been talking in front of the door and we thought someone was in our unit because the sound carried it straight to our bedroom.
Overall it’s just alright. For paying $1k total we probably won’t be going back. We realized one of our favorite hotels would have ended up being cheaper/cleaner/better food. So guess it depends what you’re looking for!

Thank you for taking the time to write your reivew. All feedback is appreciated and had we known some of you issues early in your stay we could have remedied them immediately. Your Suite has the only carpet in the Ranch. it is a trackless short pile. It is spring and windy and we can dust and have things look dusty a day later. A sound board that goes between the two units was inadventently left out and could have been put in in minutes had we been aware of the situation.
We have so many options for breakfast...housemade granola, other cereals, yogurt, fresh berries and fruits, citrus platters, meat and cheese platter, bagels, English Muffins, breads, pastries, juices and coffee, all in addition to a Southwest breakfast entree and meats and often a third item such as hashbrowns, We have something for everyone... vegans, vegetarians, lactose intolerant, gluten free and it is all complimentary.
Our guests love the fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, large living spaces, kitchenettes, covered outdoor sitting areas, not to mention the Mountain, lake and woodland views, vs parking lot views. Staying in a hotel for three or four nights is always an option to a country stay, and as you say, it depends upon what a guest is looking for.
nice spot , cozy room but fragrant sheets gave me a head ache. They also had a weird feeling .. polyester maybe? Towels were cheesy too. Breakfast was great and people were very nice.
Absolutely beautiful and comfortable room! Very beautiful location and easy to access. One complaint would be the water pressure with the sink and shower. Otherwise, 10/10 would recommend this place to friends and family!

Dear Carli, thank you for your feedback! We have successfully restored the water pressure to the room, during the droughts in Colorado water tables are very low but we try our best to make sure our guests always have adequate water supply.
Great place! There is a calm about the property that makes you want to stay and come back.

Thank you for noticing! Covid guidelines have made many aspects of running our Inn more difficult, from not getting into rooms except at check out, to shortages of some supplies. Our staff works extra hard to overcome these issues and provide that special experience we've been famous for..... for 35 years.
The room was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Lake View room. Great staff. The place was so pretty and very well maintained. Will definitely go back.

The property was awesome, views to remember forever, each Casitas was beautiful with incredible views of the lake and mountains. We enjoyed everyday walks around the property and my wife fell in love with the deer right next to our Casitas. We wii return!

Wow, thank you for the thoughtful review! We look forward to your return stay.
Beautiful property. The breakfast was modified for Covid and delivered to the room. It was plenty of food and very good but arrived lukewarm since they had to deliver it. The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness. We found an old sock but that wasn’t the worst part. The previous occupant had loaded the dishwasher but hadn’t run it so there weren’t enough dishes and of course I didn’t realize the issue until I went to load the dishes that were available. Then, for hand washing dishes there was only an old dirty sponge. I don’t use sponges in my own home because they are germ infested. I really don’t want to use a used one at a B&B. For what you pay to stay here, I would expect more attention to detail.

Thank you Krystal for noticing how beautiful our property is and we how continue to serve a delicious breakfast during this pandemic. The cleanliness of our units is very important to us at Blue Lake Ranch. Sponges are always replaced for each guest however there seems to have been a lapse and it wasn't replaced as usual. We will take extra steps to ensure that each unit is up to our standards going forward.

We work hard to make every stay a great experience, thank you for acknowledging our efforts.
Blue Lake Ranch is a little slice of heaven. The grounds are picturesque, our cabin was so homey and filled with history and thoughtful interior design. We were brought delicious breakfast every morning and the staff is super helpful if you need anything. Their guide book helped us find our way to dog sledding which was just the coolest! Highly recommend!!!

This was one of the most beautiful places on Earth to stay. From the setting, the rooms, the breakfast and customer service,
Blue Lake Ranch can not be beat. This was one of the first time that pictures on a website looked exactly like the places. Chose due to COVID, but will be back because I loved it.

THANK YOU!! We are so glad that you came to stay with us. We hope you will be back soon to visit our little piece of paradise.
Our stay was wonderful! The lake view suite was very clean, comfortable and had a great view. I really loved that they had whole bean coffee and a grinder for fresh coffee in the suite for us. Also, they didn’t make the same breakueach morning and we loved the variety and the food was great!
Stayed one night here , wasn’t sure what to expect but talk about a hidden gem in the Durango mountains ! Such a beautiful, quaint place, very quiet. Everything was just beautiful here , we got a homemade delicious breakfast in the morning.
Will definitely be back !
