We had a very comfortable stay at the wheatsheaf in Swindon, staff were friendly and welcoming, a bar that was open for drinks and places to sit and relax. Our room was comfortable although window wouldn’t stay open to let in fresh air as it was a warm day outside. Our even meal was delicious with a good choice of menu. Breakfast was also good and the service was swift. a great start to our day. All in all an enjoyable stay would revisit this hotel again in the future.
This was a lovely place to stay which we chose partly because it has some EV charging facilities. The restaurant and bar have a good selection with well kept beer and the staff are helpful and friendly. We especially recommend the panna cotta, however, all the food was good. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and well appointed with tea, coffee and water. We would visit again
Absolutely amazing hospitality in such a beautiful and tranquil location overlooking the green in the village food was excellent breakfast was filling with endless fresh coffee it’s so rural and quiet no need for earplugs at this lovely accommodation highly recommend and definitely be back again thanks steve
Return stay. Stayed here many times over the last few years, always a warm and friendly welcome, good service, good food and nice rooms. Also, good for business travellers, breakfast available from 7.30, unlike so many country hotels.
The Wheatsheaf is ideally positioned for me to travel out in whatever direction my work takes me.
We had a fantastic stay, the hotel was immaculate, the staff were so friendly and the service and food at both dinner and breakfast was just perfection. Best omelette I’ve ever had! There were some lovely touches in the room, the bottled water and delicious homemade shortbread. When travelling to borders for business in future I would absolutely endeavour to stay here again.
Had a lovely three night stay at the Wheatsheaf. Michael and Jo were always there and most helpful. Our room (no1) was upstairs and had a large settee in and still lots of space. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was delicious.
