Exactly as described and the pictures do not do it justice. The property is lovely and the location is stunning. We really loved the area and the view from the decking is beautiful. Great place if you want peace and quiet to relax and unwind for a while.
Very nice property. Cosy with stunning views over loch long.

A quiet place to stay; the rate of the Scottish tourist board at least one star too high.
I am sorry to have to say the following.
The decor of the cottage is very dated and worn. For example: the upholstery of the chairs of the dining room chairs is broken, the control knobs of the heaters are broken, window of the upstairs bedroom cannot be closed, the bath towels and kitchen linen are a little worn out.
But there was a surprising welcome package with fresh eggs and delicacies.

Nice cottage
I scored Ok for cleanliness as there were a lot of cobwebs around. Our dog's ball went under the sofa and it was filthy under there. There was dust on a lot of surfaces and in the corners.
We had a lovely welcome pack of eggs, milk, meringues etc but the owners did not come to say hello.
Despite it being advertised as such, there is no wifi or internet connection. The owner could not rectify this and told me it was just a poor signal. This feature is the main thing we look for in a holiday cottage.
Otherwise the cottage was comfy and I had the best sleep ever in a very comfy bed.

Stay at Rowan Cottage
Lovely honeymoon stay at the cottage. An ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. The welcome produce basket & Prosecco a lovely touch. Thank you.
Had a brilliant time staying in this lovely property. Everything was there that was needed for our stay along with a lovely welcome basket when we arrived. It is very peaceful and still missing the great views of the Loch and countryside whilst sitting on the deck. We also did the trail biking during our stay which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend staying at this property.
We had a very nice week in this cosy cottage. Although the farm is doing clay shooting and quad tours it is usually very quiet.
When we arrived there was a lovely welcome basket with fruits, vegetables and some sweets.
What we did not like was the width of the double beds (130cm) but this might be British standard? The fridge could be exchanged as well, as there were no more inserts in the door to place bottles there.
Set amid stunning scenery, the property is in a great location to explore the area. We ventured into Dunoon itself, aswell as exploring Argyll’s secret coast (down to a stunning beach at Ostel Bay) & up to Lochgoilhead. The only negative for us is that we had to drive whenever we wanted to go out. If you don’t mind that though I would certainly recommend.
We had a go at quad biking on-site at Quadmania, which was an amazing experience, great views and great fun for all the family!
The welcome basket was a lovely touch and much appreciated too - the eggs were so tasty!

The most beautiful spot!
The cottage is in the most beautiful spot, we absolutely loved sitting out on the decking looking over the loch. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and the dishwasher was great. The shower was good, very powerful. The sofas are not the comfiest but if the weather is dry you will probably want to sit outside on the decking anyway!
We took our two dogs and there are So many wonderful places to explore nearby (within an hour ish) including Benmore Gardens, Pucks Glen, Inveraray, Loch Lomond. The closest shops are in Dunoon which are a good 20 min drive away. There is a wonderful cafe called the Blairmore a couple of miles away - we would highly recommend.
The booking process was simple,
The cottage was idyllic, surroundings perfect.... There was nothing not to love except for the week coming to and end and having to leave this beautiful place...

A comfortable cottage in a great location
Cottage was clean and well equipped. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There were 4 of us with a toddler, it may have felt slightly cramped if all 6 beds had been used. Beds were very comfortable and the heating effective. A lovely spot. It would have been nice to have had guidance about walks in the adjacent fields, but maybe that is not possible. All in all a great place to stay
What a wonderful little gem of a cottage and the views ! Just wow. A wonderful place to recharge & not to far to visit other places such as Inverary & Oban, Oh & make sure you visit Pucks Glen, just magical.
Would highly recommend

Beautiful views from lovely cottage
Family of 4 from London visiting Scotland for first time. Argyll cottage rental and Rowan cottage owners supplied excellent directions, information and instructions for our stay. We found it easily and ate at a number of recommended local pubs and cafes. The cottage is located on a hillside with beautiful panoramic views over Loch Long. Kids loved nearby grazing sheep and huge variety of bird life. Cottage was very well equipped. Comfortable beds gave good night's sleep, large sofas for TV , kitchen had everything needed and we cooked a couple of nights. Outdoor seating on patio was much appreciated given the warm weather. We had an excellent stay.

Cottage which seems well fitted BUT...
No separate toilet contrary to the description. The dinner table was wobbly. We had to screw it back. The WiFi is really poor. The kitchen drawers & the kitchen hood were dirty. Not enough dishes. No replacement for the toaster when it broke down.
But lovely situation near the loch & nice welcoming basket

Rowan Cottage
Rowan Cottage was indeed in a beautiful location and because we had good weather during our stay we were able to take full advantage of the decking area with its excellent views over Loch Long. We enjoyed the peace and quiet that this property offers.
We did feel that some improvements could be made to the interior especially with regard to the kitchen and its equipment. There was a very rusty dish drainer and glass chopping board that was very badly water stained - these items were well overdue for replacement. There was very little crockery especially if there was full occupancy and the 6 dinner plates that were provided to eat off were frankly quite disgusting - they were extremely scratched and again well overdue for replacement.
The sealant in the shower was very blackened and again overdue for renewal. The upstairs bedrooms had fitted units - these again were in need of re-decorating and the drawers needed a good cleaning.
We do not want to appear over critical but we are avid self caterers and this cottage interior did not live up to its description and is quite low down on our list of properties we have enjoyed over 30 years. So many cottages we have stayed in have that extra little something that makes you feel really welcome. Despite a welcome tray this did not feel like a home from home which so many others do.

Perfect for our honeymoon
It was our second visit to Rowan Cottage. We loved it so much we chose it for our honeymoon. We received a lovely, thoughtful welcome from the owners and we will definitely be going back. The views and walks in Ardentinny Forest were great and there’s also a beach by the side of the Loch which is great for walking too.
