A quirky, cosy and tastefully decorated star of a cottage. It is like a TARDIS! Open the two red doors to find a colourful stained glass doorway which leads into a surprisingly large open plan space. Scandinavian style aplenty. The sitting area is very cosy with a log burner. Two dining areas: one on ground level, another, down four steps, in the large, well-equipped kitchen. Lovely views of the pier with the pleasure of watching the tide rise and fall. The bathroom is on the ground floor with a great shower, very tasteful decoration again. Upstairs there is a comfortable bed and large chest which will hold whatever you bring. Great sleep, every night. The space inside has been very cleverly utilised. It is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. We were a party of three with our pet and we had plenty room. The location , being right on the pier, is beautiful. Spend time with a cuppa just watching all the little boats bobbing and you will feel calmed in only a few moments. Kilmun is a great base for access to some of Scotland's most impressive scenery. A day visit to the Isle of Bute is a real treat, with the journey to the ferry terminal at Colintraive taking you through mountain passes that never disappoint, whatever the weather. Bute, itself, is charming, with some absolutely beautiful beaches. Mike, our host, was fantastic at communicating. Questions were answered in a flash. Very friendly and helpful. You will be hard pushed to find a better place to stay! Thanks for a great holiday, Mike.
