Favorite VRBO EVER
This is by far my favorite short term rental I have ever stayed at. The location and privacy is second to none. The pool area is like something out of a movie. Hope to come back again!

The Perfect Charm
The Salt Box was absolutely perfect for my friend group of 8 people. Pretty much everything on the island is walkable, and the house/garden is truly an oasis. Sofia and her team are so responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Felt Like Home
From the booking and communication with our host, Sophia (seamless) to the stay itself, we are so thankful. We had a small issue with the kitchen stove one morning--Briana communicated it to the handyman and it was fixed right away. Everything needed was available and tended to thoughtfully. The house and cottage were perfect for our party of 6, celebrating a milestone birthday. We rented a golf cart for 6 for the duration of the trip and enjoyed our forays around the island. The highlights were lounging together and talking in the outdoor seating area, cooking lobster tails and flank steak one evening on the outdoor grill (all the men want to build one in their own homes now) and finding out we were only one block from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Very welcoming island from the Saltbox to all we encountered. Thank you.

Our stay at this house was pure bliss! The accommodations at the home are as nice as any 5 star hotel, with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as daily turndown service. The pool and grounds look like something out of magazine, and we spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor living room. The house is very conveniently located with the beach and restaurants just a short walk or golf cart ride away. The host Sofia was very welcoming and was very responsive to all our questions leading up to the trip. I hope to stay here and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a stylish retreat on Harbour Island. Came for a long weekend

We adored out time here, and cannot wait to return! Sofia is the loveliest host. We absolutely adored the outdoor spaces, from swimming in the heated pool, to taking refuge from the rain under the lounge tent structure in the backyard. Every detail in the house is perfection.

Amazing property
We had the absolute BEST time at the salt box and in harbour island!!! I am literally planning a trip back :) it was such a cool property with amazing outdoor space, a very well appointed kitchen, and great sleeping arrangements. We did a golf cart which was perfect for us to get around the island and felt super safe! 5 stars for salt box!!!!

Captured the magic of Harbour Island
This rental provided us with an oasis within an oasis. Our group of seven (three kids, two parents and two grandparents) were easily accommodated. The yard, pool, and outdoor showers were amazing and utilized daily. I’ve never had a more responsive host, and Briana and the rest of the crew who showed up daily were enjoyable to chat with and most helpful with our questions. The house is in the center of it all and provided easy access to the beach, our boat charters, and all of our dinner reservations.

Most magical trip
We had the best time and wonderful stay at saltbox. The entire team was so helpful from getting the house ready, stocking the kitchen with food, keeping it clean and helping plan fun activities. Salt Box is incredibly charming and well appointed. The house has everything you need AND the design of the home is very attractive in terms of the interiors. If you are a person who appreciates design you’ll very much enjoy the thoughtful details throughout. The interior lawn and pool is also beautiful and peaceful; we spent several late afternoons enjoying some shady respite by the pool. We did not prepare any large meals at the house but the outdoor dining area is clearly well suited for families or a group of adults - I can imagine it would be a lovely setting for ‘home’ cooked dinner. The owners have created a little slice of paradise in Salt Box - we couldn’t recommend it more!

Blissful retreat in paradise
Our stay at Salt Box was fantastic. The experience in person matched exactly how you would imagine a stay would be based on their Instagram account. The property is stunning. I loved arriving back at the house every day after our adventures and sitting by the pool with a glass of wine. We had two families staying there (our family or 4 and another family of 3). My family occupied the main house and the other family was in the guest house. It was perfect because each family had privacy but we largely together except when sleeping. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor space. There are so many great places to choose from to hang out and relax. Our kids loved the pool and there was enough room in the backyard for them to play football and hide and seek. The owners, house manager, and pool person were very attentive and responsive. My only advice to the owners would be to have some plastic cups and more melamine plates/bowls etc. I was worried giving the good glasses to the kids to drink! ;)

The Salt Box was nicely situated in town, but quiet at night even in the midst of high school Spring Break! The two houses allow for privacy. It's perfect for a group that plans to eat out, but wants a nice relaxing home base. The pink outdoor shower was amazing!

Charming Home on Harbour Island
I was lucky enough to plan a trip for a group of friends to Harbour Island, and (after a few previous vacations staying elsewhere) I knew I wanted to stay at the Saltbox. The property has so much charm between the historic main house and gorgeous cottage, and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking. While we loved this house for our group of friends, it would be wonderful for two families as well. Brianna, the housekeeper, was a delight, and all of our communication with Sofia and Elie was a breeze. Thank you for the most wonderful memories- we will be back!!

Best vacation ever
It was the perfect vacation ! The 2 houses and the pool are perfect for a family with grandchildren . My son and his wife stayed in the back house with their 2 kids and I slept upstairs and my other kids slept downstairs . I loved the green room that Tom Scheerer did and I’m so happy that Sofia kept it the same ! The back house was done by Amanda Lindroth and it is so chic . The front house is in Tom Scheerer’s book and the back house is in Amanda Lindroth’s book One of my favorite memories was reading Bahama Mama . It was on the table and Sophia wrote that book . You won’t be disappointed ! If your into design and have a fun group you will love it Bravo

Girls Trip
Perfect for our girls trip. 8 people, very spacious and the pool and backyard are a great size. Excellent location to walk or golf cart to beach, restaurants and bars. Awesome Place

Salt Box is such a great property - great for larger groups. Wonderful outdoor seating/dining/garden and pool. Very stylish, lovely rooms....heads up that master bedroom in main house (w that divine bathroom) doesn't have a door so is best suited to someone who isn't concerned about hearing other early risers. If you want quiet and privacy, let your guests stay in the main house and grab the guest house for yourself. The owners and lovely and v quick to respond etc. PS - Don't tell everyone about it! Let's keep it our secret.

The Best Vacation Spot!
We brought two families with small kids (ages 3, 4, 5 & 6). This property was absolutely amazing. A slice of paradise right beyond the gate on Dunmore Street. The yard/pool and 2 houses were stunning, like out of a magazine! We loved the island chic vibe! Then step out of the front gate and you are 1 minute from everything! The location is awesome. The housekeeper and house manager were so helpful and kept everything neat and tidy! The owner texted to check in, but was never overbearing! We will be back!

We had an absolutely lovely time and even extended our trip a couple of days because the property was such a comfortable and happy place. We noodles around in the big saltwater pool for hours a day. The kitchen is small but perfectly equipped. The gardener and housekeeper were kind, quick and unobtrusive. We loved being right in town and are hoping to come back next year only longer! My 4 year old is calling it “home”.

Location Location Location
We are frequent visitors of Harbour Island and have rented many houses. This was one of our favorite homes. It is very centrally located: easy walk/golf cart ride to shops, bay, and ocean. The accommodations were nice. The decor was perfect - not so fancy that we were given restrictions on usage (and that has happened at other homes) but very clean and updated. The outdoor living spaces were extremely nice and usable. We grilled 3 or 4 times. We used the outside bar (maybe too much). We sat in the outdoor seating areas. And, our entire group (adults, older teenagers, and children) used the pool. The pool is large and was heated perfectly. We had some concerns prior to rental but everything worked out better than expected. For example, while the kitchen is small, it was very user friendly and well-stocked. Much thought went into the renovation of this home to capture the charm of Harbour Island but offer modern amenities. I definitely would consider renting the Saltbox again!

Magical escape

Favorite place in Harbour Island
Salt Box is easily one of the most beautiful places to stay in Harbour Island and we had an amazing long weekend there. The location is very convenient for restaurants, bars and the beach (all walking distance) and the house has everything you would need; pool, well equipped kitchen, microwave, great stove. There is a beautiful barbeque area and lovely large garden for entertaining and one of our favourite things were the outdoor showers. The house fit us all perfectly and has very comfortable pillows and beds. There is a historic feel about the house which has so much character while still being functional and comfortable to stay in (and looks beautiful in our photographs).
