Nice hotel, plumbing might need fixing
The stay was absolutely grand up until a large leak in the corridor ceiling outside my room in the middle of the night. This created some hassle understandably. The dripping into buckets through the night made sleep quite difficult. Other than that, its an old building so makes noises naturally but this isnt too much of an issue

Cosy, simple 3 star B and B feel.
Have stayed before. Simple 3 star - homley feel, not grand but a great budget saver and lovely 10 minute walk from central Dunkeld and river. Lots of amenities near by.

It was good room, 3 beds, overall very good, breakfast fab. Shower not very powerful maybe because we were on top floor

Lovely old building, rooms very roomy! Breakfast enormous and delicious! A hairdryer would have been great though! Staff friendly and obliging! Thank you for a first lovely night in Scotland!

Lovely old character building. Like walikng back in time. Little creaky, but what do you expect? No bar or evening restaurant, but plenty of local facilities to accommodate. Would definitely recommend and return.

We do have a BAR and Restraunt which are located right next to the hotel unfortunately during these difficult staffing times and cost of living crisis we are unable to operate two bars, Kitchens and double staff. We are however pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we hope that we can welcome you back soometime in the near future

Good value.
The hotel is visually impressive enough, but tired in various respects. Unfortunately, the key the key would not open the door to the first room we were allocated so we ended up in a smaller room nearby. Breakfast was substantial and very good and the food in the adjoining Birnam Inn was excellent. Overall probably quite good value for our 2 night stay.

Excellent value
We had a brief overnight stay to attend a local wedding. The hotel was convenient had old Scottish charm & the beds were clean & comfortable. The decor is a bit dated but to be fair it didn’t matter as it was excellent value for money. We didn’t book breakfast as had an quick departure but they looked hearty.

Disappointing stay
Accomodatipn was ok but desperately needs updating to the present day. Bad repair on bathroom door which did not lock,paintwork drab, screw sticking out dangerously on curtain tieback and bare walls all add up to a 1980's throwback. Its a shame as the outside and main lobby are really nice but doesn't make up for the disappointing accomodation. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Booked Monday and Tuesday - kitchen and bar closed - no food or drink. Returned on Tuesday afternoon. No housekeeping. Beds not made, towels not replaced and bin not emptied. Only saw one member of staff at any one time. Totally run down hotel!

This was just a 'stop over' for me en route. Now I wish it had been my 'destination'. Very comfortable and well fitted rooms yet embracing the 'old world charm' that I love when I visit castle hotels. Wish I had had more time. Thanks.

Great location, basic hotel.
Good location in a lovely area. Room was basic and a little tired, but clean. The bed was comfortable, but just a basic double. It was difficult to reach the bath taps because the basin prevented the glass shower screen from being moved. No shower gel or shampoo provided, which I found a little mean for £90 per night B&B. The few staff (one person to handle reception and serve at the bar and restaurant) were friendly and helpful. Food was unexciting but reasonably priced, apart from several supplements on the breakfast menu.

With regard the supplement on the fish items on the breakfast menu we regrettably have had to charge a supplement on these items due to prices increasing by 50% from our supplier to us again this is not a situation exclusive to our business

Terrible food, beer was bad and had to send it back. We did not get what we ordered. Basically everything is cooked from frozen probably bought out of a discount store

We are please that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel, however are somewhat disappointed that you were not happy with your evening meal and drinks but can assure you that at no time do we serve meals from a discount store that being siad we can only apologise to you but if these comment and issues are not brought to our attention at the time it is very difficult to pin pount any downfalls that there might have been

Enjoyed our stay
We enjoyed our stay . It was during the virus and an almost lockdown conditions, so the hotel was very quiet , but very safe . We would like to return under normal circumstances . The hotel has plenty of character, which we love .

Warm, clean and comfortable on a cold, rainy evening. Lovely dinner in the Inn, prepared and served by friendly, pleasant staff. Disappointed that the bar wasn't open, though, to serve a nightcap drink at 10.00pm!

Thank you for your positive review. unfortunately during these uncertain times we have to play each evening by ear and if staff are on duty and no customers for an hour or so then I am afraid for th viability of the business we have to take the unusual decision to close early. As on the night you stayed with us it was also a health and safety concern with regard the staff traveling home late at night during storm Arwen

The bed was so uncomfortable we both woke with a sore back and the pillows were as flat as pancakes. Food was ok but hotel is very run down And stuck in the past decor and food.
