The building has seen better days but I was surprised to find the room clean and comfortable for what I needed. With its central location it was a short walk to everywhere. All in all I was pleasantly surprised.

Hotel is well situated. Staff was very helpful and available. That being said the hotel is under going renovations. I would recommend for anyone wanting to be close to the downtown core or railway station
The premises are clean and tidy, and you can see they are renovating. The renovations did not impact at all. Reception and cleaners all very approachable and friend. The hotel is close to the octagon, Settlers Museum and supermarket, all an easy walk. Room was comfortable with kettle tea and coffee and creamer. Also has a lovely courtyard where you can enjoy a beverage and cigarette. I will definitely stay there next time I am in Dunedin.
Loved the history of the hotel. Its charm was stupendous

Clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the number of power points in the room: I could charge phone and hearing aids at the same time as boiling the kettle for a cuppa. Lovely hot water in the shower. I've stayed here before and certainly reccomm4end the Leviathan to anyone wanting value for money without the frills.
Super central to everything; Toitu museum, railway station, eateries & cafes - & included parking was a bonus. This hotel has charm, was clean & tidy; i will definetly stay here again.
