Natural beauty and the 500-year old giant natural monuments - Asian plane-trees. It is the home of the Trsteno Arboretum. One can easily get there in some 20 minutes by one of the regular buses connecting Dubrovnik with the Dubrovnik coastland. Trsteno boasts the 15th century renaissance summer residence of Gučetić-Gozze family, with its garden which has been cultivated from the 15th century to the present day. The garden encompassing the summer residence, aqueduct, mill, the fountain with Neptune and nymphs and the belvedere pavilion overlooking the sea and islands is the finest example of Dubrovnik summer residence garden architecture. The room has double bed, bathroom, air conditioning, TV, internet, and free parking. There is possibility to organize airport shuttle (surcharge), and also there is local bus station which directly connects Trsteno with Dubrovnik. A small town located 19 km northwest of Dubrovnik. A place that you have to pass by car or bus if you come from the direction of Split. This small place hides a gem for all plant lovers because it houses the Arboretum. The oldest monument of garden architecture in Croatia and the only preserved 5-century-old Dubrovnik garden. La chambre et la salle d'eau sont impeccables, propres, neufs, le lit immense est très confortable. Il y a la climatisation. Les hôtes sont accueillantes et tres gentilles. La route est au pied de la maison et elle est extrêmement passante en Août, de nuit comme de jour. Trsteno est un joli tout petit village mais à part une petite supérette, dangereusement accessible à pied car en bord de route avec un tout petit trottoir et des voitures qui roulent très vite et très près de nous. Il n'y a rien d'autre : aucun restaurant, aucun café, rien du tout. Et quand on voyage en transport en commun, difficile de manger dans une chambre qui n'est pas du tout équipée pour cela ! L'arrêt de bus est devant la maison. Par contre, quand on descend à la mer, wahou, quelle vue, quel paysage ! A couper le souffle ! Baignade dans une piscine alimentée en eau de mer et peu de touristes.
