About this property
near Dubrovnik City Walls
Although situated within arms' reach of the bustling center, the apartment will make guests feel miles away from the summer crowds as they relax on the quiet private terrace and gaze at the majestic centuries-old walls of Old Town, with views of the sea and the cable car just opposite. It has character and a lovely open shared space where you can enjoy sunset drinks with amazing view. The apartment occupies the ground floor of an historic house that dates back to the 1600's and was one of the first houses to be built outside of the Old Town. The newly-renovated living room is furnished in a style that echoes the house’s long history, yet has been updated with modern conveniences like air conditioning, good a/c, Strong wi-fi Internet and flat-panel TV. Off of the living room there are two full bathrooms (one with Jacuzzi, the other with shower), bedroom with queen bed, another bedroom with two single beds, and a separate full kitchen. At the back of the apartment there is another bedroom with queen bed, a bedroom with one single bed, and a 3rd bathroom with shower (please note that this bathroom, while functional, is bare-bones and should therefore be considered an extra convenience). The queen and the single bedrooms are simple, tidy, and functional, while the double bedroom with 2 twin beds, which looks out onto the terrace, has been renovated and is nicely decorated in a classic style with rich mahogany furniture. The terrace is partly covered—thereby appealing to shade-seekers and sun-lovers alike—and is equipped with a table and chairs and a traditional stone barbecue. Emma apartment sleeps 7 with the possibility of 2 additional guests* (2 on the living room sofa bed). Amenities include air conditioning in the living room and three bedrooms, except one small single bed room. This room is equipped with a ceiling fan. Besides, the apartment’s thick stone walls and shaded position keep it remarkably cool! Free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, washing machine, baby cot, high chair (those 2 items are on request). It is perfect for a good sized group up to 7 or 8 people. Our house manager is 24/7 on to the disposal to our guests. But we don't want to disturb our guests and we are like a shadows. Always there when you need us but you never see us. You will be delighted with the comfortable surroundings, the closeness to the old town. The Buza gate entrance to Old Town is less than 150 m from the apartment. From there, a descent down a long staircase leads right to the main street Stradun. Guests who want to avoid stairs can use the Ploce gate entrance, which is only 2-3 minutes' walking distance from the apartment. All amenities you need are within minutes including, ATM, liquor store, the supermarket is about 300 left out of the apartment., a bakery and a newsagent is literally 10 m. You can be delighted with the morning trips to the nearby bakery for delicious pasties and coffee, and to another little fruit store where we enjoyed fresh apples, nuts and apricots. Emma's cottage is located very close to the bus station to different directions. Where from you can make short term excursions to Cavtat, Konavle, ... We also offer airport transfers, and private tours in the area of Montenegro or Mostar!
Located near the beach, this apartment is in Ploce, a neighbourhood in Dubrovnik. While the natural beauty of Banje Beach and Lapad Beach can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can explore Gruz Harbor.

The property was absolutely beautiful. Location was excellent and there are no words to describe how wonderful and kind and informative our host was. I would highly recommend this property.
Darko was fantastic host, and gave us a good outline of things to do and places to do in the city.Villa was just as advertised and comfortable for 7 people. Would stay here again
We loved Emma’s cottage! The location could not be beat! Darko, the host, met us at check-in and went out of his way to help us have a wonderful time in Dubrovnik with personal recommendations for restaurants, sites, and even the right ATMs to use! He also helped us arrange transportation to and from his property. The property is well equipped for small groups w 3 bathrooms and 5 beds. The highlight for us (4 women traveling together) was the lovely outside deck area. We whole heartedly recommend Emma’s Cottage in Dubrovnik!
We had an amazing time! Darko was a wonderful and extremely helpful host. The house was very nice and in a perfect location. We highly recommend staying here!
Our group wished we had more time to stay in this beautiful home with so much history! The location is so convenient to the Old City, transportation, and shops, and the large terrace was fantastic!
Traditional villa with all the home comforts and in a fantastic location (5 min walk to old town, 2 min to cable car). Darko is an excellent host, sharing lots of useful information and great restaurant recommendations. We definitely recommend!!
Darko’s home was perfect for our group of 3 couples. It was a short walk to Old Town & wonderful bakeries for breakfast treats! Darko gave a great overview of the house & provided wonderful recommendations for dinner & day trips out of the city. The house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our week in Dubrovnik. I highly recommend his home!!
The villa is perfectly located for a short stay in Dubrovnik; easy walking distance to the old town, cable car, supermarket and bakeries. The villa is large with plenty of space for a group of 4 friends like us. Everything you could need is provided; the kitchen is very well eqipped. Darko is very welcoming and gave great recommendatons for things to see, directions and restaurants. We were very grateful for the airport transfer and the restaurant that he booked for us. I would highly recommend staying here.
Darko was so Fabulous to communicate with and had great recommendations, beds were very comfortable and his patio/deck were outstanding, lots of Fun was had by all. Thank you Darko
This property is ideal. Ample front terrace with sunny and shady views of the old city and the sea. Comfortable beds, plenty of room for 5 friends. AC makes this a very comfortable place even in a hit spell. Well-equipped kitchen and comfortably furnished.
The host is communicative and very accommodating. Helped us with transportation and recommendations for dining and sights. In all, a wonderful experience for our first visit to Dubrovnik.
Charming old home in an excellent location to old town Dubrovnik and bus stop. Very close to cable car which we were concerned about when booking but it is totally silent and we didn’t notice it at all. We stayed during the opening of the summer festival and were able to see the fireworks display in the port from the terrace. Beds were comfortable but creaky (noisy when moving around). Photos are accurate except for the terrace…it is so lovely. The photos don’t do it justice. Darko (host) was so very helpful and informative. Gave us great suggestions on where to eat (and where to avoid) and walked us through a map of the old town to help orient us. He also let us store our luggage for the day, after we checked out. House is not fancy but has everything you could need. Would stay again.
Wonderful host, great communication, helpful tips to the city, and location. The home had great AC, comfortable beds and pillows, and is very well equipped for long term stays. Darko also was very helpful with transportation to and from the property. The perfect get away!!!
Darko is so helpful and fun! Great location with a bakery just steps away and easy access to Old Town. We were a bit worried about the 3rd bathroom description, but it was more than adequate. Enjoyed the patio and view too.
We have stayed at many Vrbo, but Darko was the most attentive host we have ever had. The location is idea, easy walk with few stairs to walled city. The view from the terrace was hard to leave. The apartment was old world perfect with all amenities, sleeping for 7. Darko gave us great advice about where to eat, where to go and what to see. Great place.
Location was so excellent, generous host who was very knowledgable about tourist attractions. Well equipped residence. Comfortable beds, great residence with a washing machine. Lovely terrace. Very close to Old town gate, the cable car and bakeries. Thank you Darko...we really enjoyed our stay in Dubrovnik
Great place to stay, can see city walls from front porch. Walking distance to two entrances to the city. Host was very nice and offered recommendations on places to eat and how to get around the city.
Wonderful location and home very close to the city walls. The home was perfect for us (6 adults, ranging from late 50s to mid 20s). There not a lot of steps if you follow darko’s recommended path back). It was close to the beach and very close to the town. There are good bakeries nearby for pastries or croissants in the morning. The cable car is also very close and worth doing at least one time. We did several tours we booked on line and they were all able to pick us up at the cable car stop, which was very convenient. Darko is a wonderful host and happy to help with anything you need.
Although our visit was short, we had a great time. House was great for our family of 6. Location just steps away from the city wall was perfect. Darko was also very helpful in all aspects including helping us find parking. Would definitely come back again.
The property was spacious and clean. The patio was beyond awesome for extra space and views. Beds comfortable and the house well stocked. Our host was responsive and attentive! Really enjoyed our stay.
A nice place in a terrific spot, Steps away from Old Town
We always pick authentic, architecturally unique and centrally located places when we travel. Darko's place donahoe away from the North Gate and 3 minutes from the Ploce Gate did not disappoint. We found the place charming, well appointed and Darko a wonderful host.
This property is extremely clean and welcoming. Access to the old city is easy. The cable car is only 20 meters away. Darko is the consummate host who took care of all our needs. A very good experience for all of us.
Sehr schöne Unterkunft in sehr zentraler Lage.
