Comfortable, clean, and centrally located
The Gate Hotel was perfect for our stay in Dublin. It’s central and walking distance from most things we wanted to see/do. The only tricky part was that there were no elevators, so for older folks that may be tough. We managed just fine. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again. They also have a deal for parking with a nearby garage, which was also helpful.
Great location, lovely staff, ideal for a night stay, TV had everything and WiFi was great. Only thing is our bathroom didn’t have a bath mat so water got all over the floor. You are also over a bar which does play loud music, wasn’t a bother to me or my boyfriend.
Perfectly situated for the Aircoach stops in O’Connel Street. Clean, basic, friendly staff, good breakfast just around the corner from the hotel’s entrance. This is what you need for a few days in Dublin.
Very dated and needs lots of updating, great Location for bars and easy to walk to main city centre however got absolutely no sleep as this is on a busy road with buses and loud siren’s constantly passing and if that wasn’t enough to keep you awake it’s above a very busy club with people still partying and screeching until 6am
Pleasant staff and did provide plenty of clean towels and basic toiletries along with out of date coffee!

Great location to get around the city. But right above a bar, noisy until the wee hours of the morning.
Though from outside the property looked dire, inside the hotel was entirely satisfactory, with rooms comfortable and well equipped.
My room was two floors above the bar on the ground floor and remained noisy till after 3.30am. By far my biggest concern was the fire door just outside my room; it banged shut all night as other residents drifted in from their nighttime entertainment,
Pictures posted for this hotel are not of the hotel. Very misleading. 3 pictures are actually hotel pics. The front desk, the front entrance and the bathroom. All the other pics are not from this hotel. It’s old, floors are creating, door key is an actual key. Stairs with no elevator and small hallways that are hard to carry luggage through. After researching they the area it was found to be unsafe there. Would not advise. Staff was very friendly though
Quick and easy check in. Hotel a bit dated and very warm in the corridors, however stay was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. Location excellent and close to everything.
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is an old building, but the beds were comfy and clean. We have been travelling around Europe for 2 weeks (staying in cheap hotels) and I would say this was my favourite stay.
If you are getting a hotel to get sleep after a day in Dublin, this is not where you want to go! Fibbers Nightclub is right next door and when it closes the patrons congregate on the sidewalk and are extremely loud. The hotel could use some updating. Only one staff member was helpful, the remaining staff at the desk were not helpful and at times rude. No elevator so people are expected to get their luggage possibly to the third floor. No assistance from the males would help when we checked in. A female staff member did help with our bags. We lasted one night, checked out, took a taxi to a great hotel near the airport. We changed our flight and came home a week early.
We asked for a quiet room so we’re on the 3rd floor ( this is an old hotel so under stable)
The room was quiet and clean. For a hotel that is central it is affordable and clean.

The area did not feel safe, was loud all night. Sounded like a fight going on. Parking was
In a parking deck several blocks away. The staff was very accommodating in helping up and down the many steps with our luggage.
Would not stay there again.

Hotel is a great base. Easy walking distance to temple bars. Area a bit rough especially the entrance. We had a room at the back of the hotel and didn’t notice much noise from the club and the bars next door. Bed clean and a hot shower is all we needed. The price is expensive for where it’s situated however everywhere in Dublin is expensive. Fresh towels daily / hairdryer and iron in the room/ hand gel and shower gel in the bathroom so cannot really complain.
