Expensive hotel for pretty basic accommodation.

Posted 19-Jul-2017
Pros: You should post what people give you on feedback, but we'll both be reviewing how bad we were treated on trip advisor.
Cons: Not to rip people off.
The girls were still cleaning the rooms at 3pm,so big carts in corridors. The twin room had only one bottle of water, two glasses,on any day its bad form, but when one has travelled on a hot day, come on that's mean! Our basic room was €189.00 and on top of that, they charge €13.00 for parking,a total disgrace and breakfast is €18.00 extra. We asked the waiter was the orange juice real? As I have to avoid processed sugar at all costs,he said it wasn't real orange juice, but he'd get some for us,he came back from the kitchen with the same processed orange juice and presented it to us as real.I drank some of it,was very unwell as a consequence.Missed a day off work on Monday, unpaid. We would never stay in the Clayton Hotel again.Mean and money grabbing.

Would not stay at this hotel again.

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Pros: walking distance to office but that's not saying much!
Cons: Lot of things 1. First of Hospitality and manners to greet Guests 2. Food 3. training to handle emergency/serious situations like when guest gets sick
I was booked for a weeks stay. It started with good hospitality, but it dropped to a new low day by day. First they greeted with good service, but then by the second day ignoring requests, stalling orders, making excuses made the stay worse. I was sick during the stay and requested for water everyday and they stalled me for two hours, while I was waiting for water for my medicines. At the end, when I talked to manager he said, we only provide two complimentary bottles, else we have to charge you, which is no big deal, I would have paid! Which was surprising as I wasn't ordering because it was free! Food is horrible, it was the reason I got sick. The day before my last day of stay, they did not even show for cleaning. Our corporate office is only five minutes away so it's a convenient hotel but I let our HR managers know both in Ireland and the US never to use this hotel again for employees or clients.

Half hours walk to Dublin centre

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Pros: The reception area was a beautiful welcome, pity the staff were not able to compliment it.
Cons: For staff to listen and not assume we were doing things incorrectly.
Location: More smiles are needed and an acknowledgement that you are waiting rather than be ignored.
I am a keen walker it took me half an hour to the centre of Dublin not the ten minute walk I was told by Expedia staff when booking. On arrival Paul at concierge was not very helpful regarding our questions. He was not listening to all our questions and seem to want us away from the desk quickly. We wanted to print our return flight tickets for the following day. We were told to go to the business centre on the second floor where there was no help. We asked at reception and were told what to do. These instructions did not work, we then returned to reception where we were told reception staff have a job to do at the desk not help us. We were then promised a member of staff would be able to help in 5 mins, someone who understood IT. They did not arrive. Eventually a receptionist struggled helping us and it took her another 15 mins before the printer at her desk downstairs would print off the vouchers, the business centre printer was not working. The receptionist who took the details to her reception desk rather than continue to try at the business centre was very helpful. We were doing what was explained, it was the equipment that was at fault not our IT skills. We were disappointed with the lack of help in both areas and having to go up and down two flight of stairs each time. Thank heavens we did this the day before our flight as it took much longer than we expected.

Nice hotel a little far from city center

Posted 16-Jul-2017
Pros: Access to executive lounge. Food was good in bar restaurant.
We had access to the executive lounge which made all the difference. Free breakfast and snacks throughout the day was a nice bonus. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk to main tourist areas and there was not much to do around the hotel. The staff was very accommodating and helpful for answering any of our questions/concerns.

Lovely hotel

Posted 15-Jul-2017
Pros: Modern, upscale but not over priced. Comfortable beds, room was clean.
Cons: Just a little off the beaten path but an easy 15 minute walk up to St. Stephens Green.
Easy check in, clean rooms, nice comfy chairs in the lobby you can sink into after a day out and enjoy a hot cup of tea.

quiet, easy walk to places of interest

Posted 14-Jul-2017
Cons: It looks as though the custodial crew is understaffed. Sometimes it was late afternoon before anyone showed up to tidy my room.
This is a fine hotel. The room was pleasant, the hotel about 10 minutes walk from places of touristic interest. I would happily stay there again.

First stay in The Hotel in the Clayton Brand

Posted 13-Jul-2017
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: The small bar open to everyone again and evening meals served in there again. Entertainment and shows back again
Location: Taxi, bus or walk into town. Stroll by the canal, do a tour of The Aviva Stadium
Had a room upgrade on arrival and so pleased to find the key staff were still around-Tommy the Head Waiter who runs the Dining room superbly in a quite friendly manner and greets every guest with a smile and handshake and chat plus a morning paper if you are a returning guest. The breakfast is great it runs like clockwork and nothing is too much trouble. Paul and Frank the Concierges are excellent and Paul in The Lobby area could not be more friendly and helpful but everyone is pleasant including the receptionists and cleaners it makes the holiday and we will be back

Great location, but...

Posted 13-Jul-2017
Pros: Great location, nice and comfy rooms with mini fridge and other creature comforts. The conceirge was lovely and very helpful. Cons: the WIFI wasn't consistent which made things a bit difficult, the front desk staff encountered were not overly knowledgable or overly accommodating (Ex. Do you have a room with a king instead of two twins? Do you have an international charger? Do you know where I can meet the airport shuttle in the morning? All of these questions were met with a 'no' and nothing further).

A nice hotel in Dublin city

Posted 10-Jul-2017
We arrived before noon, and the hotel staff told us our room was ready, which is so pleased to hear. We had a family room and it was very comfort with three people. The room was very clean too. Clayton Hotel Burlington Road is located a little away from the city center, but have many bars and restaurants in the neighborhood. We walked to most city center attractions in about 30 mins. It's a very good place to stay in Dublin.
