On arrival the door with the ramp was locked meaning one had to carry luggage up steps to enter the hotel.
It seemed like Covid precautions were non existent. Most people walking inside the premises were not wearing face coverings. Gentlemen sitting at tables in the bar area just drinking alcohol while watching tv. Wasn’t aware this was permitted in level 5. This was each evening I ate in the hotel. No precautions taken when serving/clearing tables.
Check-in process was seamless, however, staying in hotels for work for the last 4 years I felt a preauthorisation of €500 for a €320 stay was quite excessive.
The lady checking me in was extremely courteous, pleasant and efficient.
On arriving to the room, it was freezing; heating turned off. The room did warm up within 2 hours of having the heating on. A disappointing welcome to a homely, modern room.
The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, shower extremely powerful though very stiff dial to adjust temperature.
Given Level 5; rooms were not made which I have zero problem with, however, towel replacement was not like for like leaving out floor towels etc.
Waking at 5am, on the morning I was due to checkout out, the room was again very cold; heating was turned off. Getting up at 7, there was no hot water be it at the sink or shower, even when letting it run for 10 minutes.
Service at breakfast was scarce, meals were however decent.
A €50 discount was applied on checkout, though not asked for.
