Jefferson Clinton is a historic old hotel, located in the center of the Syracuse business district. In addition, there are number of excellent restaurants (try the Aster) and bars nearby. What made the stay notable was the attention from the staff, particularly in the morning, when we arrived after breakfast had ended. The staff made a special effort to bring the food and drinks back out, even though they would have probably wished to get the area cleaned up, and moved on to the next task.
Upon check in we were given a larger room on the ground floor to accomadate our puppy. The room was clean, but the carpet had some stains and small tares, most likely because it is the designated pet friendly room. Overall I was impressed with the room, the service and food. We ordered both dinner and breakfast, in room, and both meals were excellent. I would definitely stay again.
I had a 2 day stay and it was ok, service wasn't great but not that bad. The location is pretty good but service so so...... I would go back just for the location but that would be the main reason. I had been in other hotels around and i had had better service.
i was taken back once i got inside of the room. econo lodge has a certain stigma.. when you stay at one, your not expecting too much. These recently renovated rooms were actually really nice. The rooms look like the had a complete overhaul and every thing was really nice. My friend that i shared the room with and i were both shocked by how nice this hotel was considering it was econo lodge
Syracuse, “the Salt City,” has its downtown at the southern end of Onondaga Lake. The restaurants, shops, and bars in Armory Square are popular with students from Syracuse University, about 3 miles away (5 km), and the summer months bring cultural festivals to the downtown streets.
