The hotel caters to the "hipster" crowd/vibe, but it does so in a way that anyone can enjoy staying there. The rooms are small, but the hotel design uses all of the space in an efficient manner to where you have everything you need and don't feel too cramped. The hotel itself is in good shape, designed well and is cozy and inviting. All of the staff are very friendly and do a superb job. The LA Chapter restaurant is fantastic - go there! We stayed at the Ace after a concert at the Theater and it was just perfect for that occasion.
The location of the hotel was perfect for the event I was attending. The staff was great . The room was just ok , too dark , not enough lighting. The bathroom was on the small size ... tub size was not inviting . Too small and shows signs of wear. It served it purpose .
I don't know why this hotel is a 3/12 star, to us it is a 5 star. The staff was amazing from the valet to check in. The lobby was so beautiful and luxurious. Room was supper clean and modern with a beautiful view of downtown. Will diffentitly stay here again.
Stayed 4 nights and we were very satisfied. Air conditioning was not working in the first room and we were quickly moved to another room. Loved the staff. Had an excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant Would stay here again

Stayed 3 nights and would do it again. Great location downtown in an emerging neighborhood with a mix of 20 somethings enjoying bars, restaurants, nightlife and poor, homeless people trying to survive/panhandle on the streets. So, not for everybody. The hotel staff were helpful and attentive, the room/bed clean and comfy, decently appointed. The buffet breakfast, which was included in my rate, was excellent. It's the LA Athletic Club so if you're a sport they have access to pretty much any kind of athletics you'd want.
