I stayed at the Miyako hotel in the beginning of December. The staff was nice, but the spa was amazing. My mother and I went alone, and we were the only ones in there. I've never been to a spa before, so it was really relaxing and warm. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS SHOWER. The shower was the most amazing shower I've ever had. Honestly. The hot water blasts from right above your head and the sides of the shower and it just creates this awesome twister of water. They had shampoo, conditioner and body soap right there in the shower in pumps on the wall, so it was really convenient. What I didn't like was that there was no pool at all in the hotel, but they make up for it with the spa.
The room, however was SUPER COLD. I asked for an extra blanket and they brought me a big fluffy one right away, though. The heater in the room turned on in the middle of the night every 30 minutes and made this HUGE BOOM noise, which disturbed my mom and I the whole time the first night. We turned it off the second night...
The toilet was broken and making noise but as soon as we let them know, they had a guy up there who fixed it in an hour while we were out.
We chose this hotel for being right smack dab in the Little Tokyo. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go, the Daiso, Kinokuniya (Japanese book store) and the mall.
