Thankfully, the prospect of an afternoon of cocktails watching the sunset over the lake is always alluring, and guests do make it back to the chalet for a super relaxing evening. You will be so close overlooking the Lake that you will never feel you had to be somewhere else. But do hop around the lake if you can! Annecy is often referred to as "The Venice of the Alps" with its charming canals and medieval buildings. Despite its appeal as one of the most beautiful destinations in France - this is a Town lived in, recognized as the best place to live in France for its quality of life. For this reason, it is vibrant and full of events all year long, not just in summer, as the ski resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand nearby, Megeve and Chamonix get going in the winter. A flight just over 1.5h takes you from London to Geneva Airport, which is only 65Km door to door to the chalet door. Guests board an 8:30am London flight to sip a coffee at the lake-view terrace before 12:00\. The house is surrounded by a large private loaned garden, with all around views of the lake and mountains. Built in modern chalet style, it is never hot inside with plenty of breeze, windows and natural light. It sleeps 9 people very comfortably, with 3 bedrooms (option for 7 twin beds or 3 doubles and a single), and a TV room/study with a double comfortable sofa-bed. Super fast optic fibre wi-fi is included, with good connection throughout the chalet and ample garden. One bath/shower room and one shower room (both with very hot water), plus two separate bathrooms. This property was perfect, comfortable and relaxing, definitely recommended!Staying meters from the beach with very little noise (birds and crickets mostly) and a great view from above was a real plus - relaxing yet lively, we didn't feel we needed to go anywhere. I think the photos don't do it justice.It was super clean and well equipped with everything we needed (surprised to find beach towels and pro cooking pans). All new, plenty of quality bedding and towels, well set up for our arrival. Detailed easy instructions and guide to the best local bakeries and markets, they really thought of everything. Very comfortable for 8 (easily 10), plenty of relaxing spots in front/back garden. Large dinning table and sofa have great views, or just lounging in the bedroom watching the blue lake was so nice. We spent most of our time on the terrace watching boats, paragliders and the sunset on the lake just below, perfecting our BBQs. There was a large TV, speakers, books, games, even a good office desk, but we didn't use any - swimming, paddling and cycling around the lake were best really. Kids loved the clear shallow waters to play. Host knows Annecy well and helped us sort everything at short notice, even bikes - very professional, responded in minutes even at night. Safe area for kids, gated development but you can drive, cycle or boat to taloire and annecy. Well worth it - thank you for having us! ##### Keith H.
