The cottage was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. We cooked all our own meals and the kitchen was well equipped for that. The location, with the sun room looking straight over the marsh to the Dornoch Firth, was brilliant for bird watching from the comfort of a chair - we saw lots of birds including a spectacular male Hen Harrier and an Osprey eating a fish. We did six walks of around 10 miles each within a 20 mile drive of the property. Dornoch itself has an interesting Museum. It was possible to keep the cottage well ventilated and cool using the blinds and excellent window side vents - so no fear of the dreaded Scottish Midges! ##### Elaine Gathercole ---
