The main reason for my lower rating is that the sheets were dirty (dirt and hair in them), and when we called down to the night porter he didn't offer to change them and wasn't very apologetic. He did provide clean sheets and we changed them ourselves. In the morning the staff was lovely though, and otherwise a clean room.

Amazing Customer Service
My stay was a normal. We were traveling around Ireland. What happened after the stay was amazing. I left my iPad in the room and we were down in Galway. The folks at the hotel found my iPad and helped get it shipped to my upcoming hotel in Dublin. Amazing and the best customer service I have ever had when staying in at a hotel. Period. Thank you for your help.

Saved my life!!!
The day front desk woman with red hair literally saved my life when I got locked in at barnsenore big/wind farm. Contacted the company and they got me out in 30 min. Unbelievable!!!

Solo Travel to Donegal
I went to Donegal alone and going alone can be scary for many people. But I feel the Gateway Lodge was perfect for me. It’s beside the City Centre. Staff where friendly. Check in and out was simple. Plenty of parking and the food was amazing. If I was to go again, I won’t hesitate to choose the Gateway Lodge again. 10/10 would recommend.

False perception in advert
Thought I had booked a hotel was stuck in a side annexe basic room nothing like the picture at all and no restaurant and says in town but fails to mention aye at top of steep hill!

We weren’t so impressed with the breakfast option. We found a better source on the Diamond. It would have been nice to have access to an Ice machine.

Pub Crawl in Donegal
Very clean, great showers. Wish the TV had more chanels but we didnt stay to watch tv. Was a quick 2 min walk to all the pubs. Hotel had great breakfast. The town was cute and fun. locals here are very friendly.

A Must Book
Our stay was great, Lynne on reception was great, kind and thoughtful. The night porter was lovely and friendly (as we arrived late) The service and cleanliness off the hotel was second to non, would recommend to anyone to stay and would be the only place we stay when next visiting Donegal Town

Very nice location and room - pretty standard, but has everything you need for a comfy stay! Breakfast was beautiful. No on-site bar etc as far as I am aware. Room could do with a bit more attention to detail, but we really enjoyed our stay.

A Great Stay in Donegal!
Very nice accommodation not luxurious but very clean comfortable and welcoming with the added choice of an excellent breakfast if you wished. Would stay again and definitely recommended.

My son and I stayed for one night and it was very comfortable. It was very convenient for the town centre, only a couple of minutes walk The Lodge was very clean and quiet. We didn’t have any meals so can’t comment, but the restaurant looked very nice.

Good central location, room was well appointed but was hot with poor water pressure and no plug on the wash basin. Parking free under the hotel but very limited

In relation to limited parking, we have parking on site for over 150 cars which is more than adequate for our property. The car park you refer to is one of 3 around our property with the other parking visible as you walk through it to reception. The water pressure at all sinks has been purposely reduced from a conservation perspective but all showers retain full pressure and if you encountered any issues with this we would have happily investigated immediately had we of been made aware of it. Quality staff more than made up for no aircon ...
Charming and really helpful young lady at check-in set the standard for a great stay and this excellently located (small hotel / motel). With the centre of Donegal moments away, with the wide selection of shops and restaurants, this is an ideal choice, with plenty of on-site parking.

Ok stay
Only 2 families in hotel, and they put us next door to each other, they had 3 kids under 3 that cried non stop from 5 am, but overall the staff were lovely, full of apologies, no food/ drink facilities was a huge let down
