LES HIRONDELLES GITE...
The peaceful, one storey gîte 'Les Hirondelles' is set in nature, surrounded by lawns and fruit trees, with views of the forest covered valley. The wood clad building was inspired by the old tobacco barns in the region. The spacious terrace has a table and chairs, a coal BBQ and exterior lighting, the ideal place to watch the hot air balloons pass in the early evening and the starry sky at nightfall.
A path from the terrace leads to the shared parking, swimming pool and play area, surrounded by lawns, and fenced around the perimeter.
Enter from the terrace through patio doors into a large kitchen / diner / lounge. The open space has a bright and fresh atmosphere, while the beams and wood-burning stove make it cosy for a winter getaway.

A twin bedroom (2 beds 90x200).
A double bedroom (1 bed 140x200).
A double bedroom (1 bed 140x200) with an attached bathroom (shower, sink and toilet). The patio doors from this bedroom also lead to the terrace.
Each room has ceiling fans, black-out blinds and electric heaters.

Towels and sheets provided.

THE SURROUNDINGS...
The gite is set in a quiet location, just outside of the bastille town of Domme, and 15 minutes from the medieval city of Sarlat.
Domme is just a 15-20 minute walk from the gites, or 3 minutes by car, where you will find numerous bars, restaurants, tourist shops, a small patisserie, a Casino Contact (small supermarket), a cash machine, and a post office.
Domme is a tourist attraction in itself, being officially classed as one of 'the most beautiful villages of France'. It offers a magnificent 180 degree view point across the Dordogne valley, a stalactite cave system with a glass lift looking out over the river, tours of the medieval gate towers which imprisoned the Knights Templars, and beautiful public gardens and footpaths around the ancient town walls.

Nestled at the heart of the Dordogne, the area is a photographers dream!
The scenic views are breath-taking, and the magnificent architecture documents the area's fascinating history, with a chateau around almost every corner.
Nearby attractions include sites officially listed as 'The most beautiful villages of France' including Domme, La Roque Gageac built into the cliffs, Castelnaud, Beynac, and don't forget the historic town of Sarlat and the beautiful gardens of Marqueyssac... And much more, all within a 20 minute drive!
