The Hotel is well located, with a gorgeous view, but the rooms are dated and the condition is not what I was expecting. The furniture was well worn and evident that it has not been refreshed in some time. The fixtures need updating, and in some cases replaced, my shower head was detached from the wall and wires were exposed in the bathroom ceiling.
Most of the staff were friendly and welcoming, but a large portion were not, either completely aloof or ignoring. When I checked out, despite 4 porters outside, not a single one helped with my suitcase into the car. Most of the time as I entered the hotel (passing numerous staff both outside and inside), I was rarely greeted or welcomed. Security (you have to scan your bags and pass a metal detector) just said "bags" while pointing to the x-ray machine. Not the best first impression.
Finally, the hotel sent petty and conflicting emails just before arrival and just before check-out. Four days before my arrival, the Hotel asked for my flight details and if I needed assistance with transportation. I assumed this meant that they would prioritize the rooms of those with earlier arrivals. I was wrong. The day before my arrival, I received another email stating that check-in was at 15.00 and if I wanted the room earlier, I should pay for the night before. I arrived at 13.30 and the room was not ready. Thankfully at 14.15 it was. The day before check out, I received another email stating I would be charged for late check outs.
