Excelent for a quick overnight stay lovely hotel, Very friendly staff room was basic but very clean. Bed was a bit harder than expected but okay. Would recommend this hotel if you need to visit or do business in the area. The food was of a good standard couldn’t fault the service. Staff are always helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Downside, some of the areas are being redecorated but didn’t see any work going on

We have never visited The Lakes and wanted an overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Would highly recommend staying here. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The food for the evening meal in the restaurant was lovely followed by breakfast the next day, with plenty of options. Also helped with have parking facilities on site and free for visitors to the hotel. Was not disappointed with our stay, and would definitely visit again in the future

Despite quiet, reasonably clean rooms, I would never go back to the a&o Manchester for 2 reasons. First, the hotel is clearly trying to offload onto guests work that receptionists should be doing. At check in, I was told to scan a QR code and fill out an online form on my phone before the receptionist would even interact with me. It was annoying and, for those of us whose fingers don't fly over phone keyboards (I was 47 when the first smartphone came out), both slow and painful. They are clearly minimizing staff, and it shows in other places, like trash left outside rooms not getting picked up. Second, the room toilet is in a cubicle with a door, separate from the sink. that forces people who have just defecated to handle a doorknob before they can wash their hands. It's unsanitary, unacceptable, and a great way to spread disease. Don't stay at this hotel.
