Lovely country inn

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Older building, extensive grounds, helpful staff, good for relaxation. In the country but surrounded by a business park. Not a place to start your walks. Easy to get to by car and lots of parking. Not handicap accessible. No A/C, but spacious rooms and comfortable.

Convenient location

Pros: Location. Excellent room (No 11) with good facilities. Great breakfast.
Excellent as always. Only negative was noisy guests (including children) late on Saturday night which kept us awake.

Adequate hotel for family university visit but décor a little tired and in need of some TLC. Leak stains on ceiling, bathroom tiles needed re-qrouting and shower hose leaking.

Let's do the timewarp

Pros: Great staff. Comfortable. Decent breakfast.
Cons: Decor was a little tired which could be a problem for some people.
Location: Up a windy path and a little out of the way.
I loved this place. It felt like being back in the 1970s. From the red flocked wallpaer and white melamine french styled furniture, right through the dinner gong in the dining room; everything felt like the set of Crossroads Motel. But the room was clean. The staff were fantastic. The whole place had a great atmosphere. It was like wearing a comfortable pair of worn slippers.

Pleasant stay. Staff are lovely. Check in was very efficient. Cooked breakfast was piping hot and freshly cooked! Room is a little dated but large and comfy. Great location for Exeter.
