Beach Cabins Merimbula

10/10 Excellent

"Amazing place to stay!"

Discovery Parks - Eden

10/10 Excellent

"We loved our stay here. The park was clean and had heaps of facilities. Our Chikdren loved the water park and swimming pool. Everyone was friendly and we had a great time. I did have some work to get done and found the internet reception very low and the park wifi kept cutting out but it was still manageable."

Discovery Parks - Pambula Beach

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely Initial welcome by Daisy at Reception - and on Departure as well. Stayed for 7days in a well appointed Cabin ( Separate Shower to Bathroom, bedroom comfy & kitchen) with parking next to Cabin. Very private and only a 2min walk to the Ocean. Met the many Locals - Friendly Eastern Grey Kangaroos with their Joeys and a large Monitor Lizard all enjoying the Sun. As a Solo 71yr old Maori Female traveller of 5yrs, this would have to be the best Stay. Thank you Discovery Parks PAMBULA BEACH & Daisy. The only downside was: Expedia charged me Twice, and it has been difficult getting a Refund. 😔"

The Black Dolphin Motel and Holiday Park

10/10 Excellent

"One night away with myself and daughter for a beach trip. We did not liaise with any staff so could not really rate that appropriately. The room was perfect for what we needed it for. It was clean, great location, easy parking and seamless check-in. The business spans over two large properties. We were opposite the holiday park. There was a pool available on our side, and a small water park area with slides and sprinklers available in the holiday park side. I am unsure if you are able to utilise this if you're not staying on the holiday park side. Worth checking if you are travelling with kids. The property itself was really well maintained. Gardens, walkways, amenities. We come to Merimbula from Canberra often, and have tried out quite a few of the hotels. Some hits, a few big misses, but this one was a hit. Will definitely stay again. As my daughter put it "This is our new spot we can come to every time!""

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Devils Hole?

The best area to stay near Devils Hole is the coastal town of Eden, located approximately 25 kilometres south.

Eden serves as a convenient and well-appointed base for exploring the region. It's a port town with a strong maritime history, centred around Twofold Bay. The main street, Imlay Street, offers a selection of shops, cafes, and local restaurants. The Eden Wharf is a focal point, offering views of the bay and often featuring local fishing boats.

For couples, Eden provides a relaxing escape with easy access to natural beauty. You can enjoy strolls along the foreshore, visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum to learn about the town's whaling heritage, or take a short drive to secluded beaches like Aslings Beach. Many accommodations offer sea views, great for a peaceful start and end to your day.

Families will find Eden practical due to its amenities and proximity to outdoor activities. Kids will enjoy Green Cape Lighthouse, which offers historical insights and stunning coastal views, or a trip to Ben Boyd National Park for walking trails and wildlife spotting.

When is the best time to go to Devils Hole?

The best time to go to Devils Hole is during the Australian autumn (March to May) or spring (September to November) to enjoy pleasant weather conditions.

During autumn, the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with less rainfall. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the area, including the local walking tracks and the nearby coastline without the intense heat of summer.

Spring also offers comfortable temperatures, generally between 18°C and 28°C, and the landscape is particularly lush after the winter rains. This period is great for outdoor activities like birdwatching or enjoying the blooming wildflowers.
