"We arrived at Burning Shore for our prebooked - prepaid accomodation over Xmas holidays - only to find it closed and without any notice on the door. When we phoned we were told the hotel was closed for renovations- and that they had not received our booking or payment ( clearly confirmed in hotels.com) - and no rooms were available in an adjacent/ presumably affiliated hotel ( 2 days before Xmas) . "A very comfortable well appointed lodge with excellent service focused staff. All rooms perched on the river bank with large viewing deck areas, the room also large, immaculately clean, a/c, inside or exterior shower, full bath with view. The food was also very good. Included 5 course served fixed menu dinner each evening, wine very reasona-ble from £12 a bottle. Lovely small pool area for a welcome cooling break. WiFi at the lodge main areas only not in room. "
