"Central hotel, close to everything. Brilliant Spa."
Hotel very central, liberation bus station a stone's throw away to get you anywhere in the island for £2/trip. Lively at the weekend, noisy if you have a 2nd floor room at the front, all others are fine though. Older part of the hotel are 'silver' standard and some are small, ours was a good size though, the decor was fresh and up to date. The newer part of the hotel has bigger rooms. Spa was brilliant - 12.5 metre pool, much larger than average pools in hotels, heated benches, foot spa, two types of steam room and a sauna, all for you, and it wasn't busy! Only downside, no heated towel rails in the room to dry anything, so you will need more than one swimming costume.

As soon as you walked through the door you were met by someone taking you bags off you and we checked in and we were taken up to our room and luggage when we went into room there was chocolates wine and a bowl of fruit and a card as it was going to be our ruby anniversary over the weekend they rang us the day before we went and ask if it was a special weekend that is how they knew.

Sometimes star ratings can be misleading but not in this case. Although the room was a little cramped that was because the bed was huge (and very comfortable.) Top class toiletries made a nice touch. Only heard an adjacent TV once for a short while but generally very quiet and good nights' sleep were had.
The staff were welcoming with the only reason a top rating for them was not given was due to a very minor fact that the tea in the room was decaffeinated and it took a couple of attempts to get 'ordinary tea' sent up.
The location requires a slight uphill walk from the main town high street but this is compensated by the great views over the harbour and to Herm and Sark; the heated swimming pool was wonderful when you just wanted to relax after doing the tourist thing.
