"Nice hotel close to town, with nice little restaurant in the lobby. Easy to get around town from. Staff was helpful in letting me change rooms when the wifi wasn’t great in my first room, which I greatly appreciated. "The staff was so friendly and helpful. They made me feel like family. Ishmail was the best, he helped me throughout the week for coordination of tourist destinations. He was so friendly, he even gave us some local Brunei food treats to take with us. He coordinated a water village tour with Sheffy and Soprie that was really fun. Ismail made us feel special. Also Amalina at the front desk was superb! Raymeen, Shidah, and Fatin at the front desk were excellent too. Ziman, the concierge was really helpful. Ari the housekeeper did a great job cleaning our room. Muiz at breakfast was very nice. I also enjoyed speaking Maui, who represents the Canada High Commission. We had a great experience!"

"Facility - 8/10\. Slightly old and some spots on the carpet but overall, good. Staff - 11/10\. Amazing staff. They are the best part of this place. Breakfast - 2/10\. limited option. Only omelet available to order. You get water, watermelon juice, 1 type of fruit, cereal +milk, bread, 1 hot main and 1 hot side dish as buffet style. Make sure to go early before 7 if you dont want the left over scrap of hot food. Location - 5/10\. Not close to anything touristic or the center. Need to use taxi to get anywhere. But some stores around and everyone knows the building. "

"Loved my stay at Embun... Exactly the weekend staycation for my wife's birthday... When you stay at Embun, get ready to be transported to a tranquil zone... The room was cozy, clean and complete... Immerse in the beautiful sunset and sunrise on the Brunei river bank from the comfort of your bed while sipping your tea/coffee... You might come for the view, but will leave with a heavy heart because of the warm hospitality of the owners who get out of their way to keep you good company and tend to your requests... I requested for a cake to surprise my wife; and Diana was gracious to help me and even bought a bouquet of flowers as her personal touch... That really exceeded my expectations... I am really thankful for the way she made my wife's special day even more special... If you are a foreigner, she will be happy to assist you as your personal tour guide... Especially if you are a solo traveller... Food? Embun has a restaurant located just below it, called Braai where good food awaits you... For my fellow Muslim travellers, they have a cute and comfortable surau/musolla for you to pray with your family...Overall, loved my stay at Embun... Definitely recommending the place to my friends and family... I found my place where I can have my reboot... Was thinking of gate keeping this place (haha), but I feel the owners deserve more people to know about this place... Happy to contribute even a little... "
