"When we arrived at the hotel, the whole site smelled of sewage. The restaurant area, the grounds, the pool area. When we asked why they said the pipes had broke. But when we tried to get our monies back and leave there was no manager at the hotel. The desk person said the manager lives in Mexico. When even Expedia tried to get in touch with the hotel to get a refund for us they coudln't get an answer. "

"Beautiful property and our cabin room was blissful. Right on the beach. They raked the sand every morning and kept it clean. Only issue I encountered was finding the check in desk as it is all owned by Jaguar Reef. "

The mood mud massage was the most unique spa treatment ever. Do not pass that up. Every detail was perfect. We literally never wanted to leave.. they dont treat you like a guest. "When we came 8 years ago there were more amenities. We were a little disappointed to see that they no longer had the swim-up bar overlooking the water and you couldn't charge anything to your room. You always have to have your money with you. Lots of construction and changes happening. They should at least warn anyone trying to book. Overall, we still enjoyed our time there. Hard to have a bad time on Ambergris Caye. "

The lodge is simply gorgeous, our two bedroom cabin was perfect, the food is wonderful, wildlife, mayan history and birding tours are exceptional and the service was impeccable. "
