I usually don't Write review, but I have to make for this one. Thumbs up to all the crews of Playa de Sala, my husband & I were very happy at our stay, the place is absolutely beautiful & very quiet relaxing place. Definitely a retreat for a couple or even single that loves to travel. Very safe even though it was a drive to downtown. We loved it so much that it was away from loud downtown of San Pedro. I had so much fun riding the golf cart, we drove a lot while we were there even at dark night. I told my Husband it's the safe I feel Safe traveling even at night with the golf cart. The paddle board is a plus free paddling board. The bar up & beautiful & the bar during the day is fantastic. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank u so much Playa De Sala!!!

The boat ride to and from the island was horrendous due to the choppy water and speed. I don't like the fact that it's misleading information on the website that's it's on the beach. It's not on the beach. If you want the beach you will have to pay extra for an excursion. The service was lacking, inconsistent with our morning coffee. 1 morning forgot the spoon and the splendid. The 2nd day forgot the splendid. The food was low par for a 4–5-star hotel or resort. No food choices available for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was good because we had choices. I would not consider this a resort but a hotel on an island. Bartender was unfriendly. No private seating for meals but rather all together. We chose the Cabanas because the picture showed a beautiful turquoise water feature instead it was murky and had an odor of swamp water. On our walk around the island in one direction, it was the poor side which included trash, debris and abandoned buildings, heavy vegetation and looked more like a habitat for iguana's. On the other side were seashore properties that were more kept but other areas in different states of construction or deconstruction by vegetation accumulated by trash and debris that was washed up on the shore. There was nothing scenic about it. The price we paid we could have gone to an all-inclusive resort with everything included. The lady who cleaned the rooms and manager were very nice and efficient. The excursions were great and worth the money. 3/5 on a scale of 5.

We had the best time here. The hosts, Shanna and Kenny were great, super responsive and very helpful with planning things to do. Ernesto, one of the drivers was also fantastic and super helpful. The locals and neighbors around the house were very friendly. A grocery store was located near by and we were able to get most of what we needed to make our meals. Dee has a small bar next door and a small shop where you can get some basics. Dee was so friendly. A Howler Monkey troop came right onto the property one of the days and they were fun to watch. Another Howler Monkey troop spends most of its time across the street at Lloyd’s. Lloyd was happy to allow us on his property to check them out. The accommodations were great. There was a washer and dryer on site that worked well. We did not want to leave and we will definitely be back!

Belize Reef Escape at St Georges Caye offers an unforgettable island getaway with some of the most breathtaking views of Belize’s famous blue waters. The resort’s location is ideal for anyone seeking relaxation and natural beauty—every sunrise and sunset is picture-perfect. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible Belizean food, lovingly prepared by Yoli. Every meal was a treat, featuring local flavors and fresh ingredients. The rooms were clean and provided a comfortable, peaceful environment, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. The staff at Belize Reef Escape were exceptionally attentive, always ready to help and ensure a wonderful experience. Excursions organized by the resort were a blast—snorkeling, kayaking, island hopping, and more. We highly recommend asking for Jay when booking excursions; he brings so much energy and fun to every trip, making each outing memorable. It’s worth noting that there aren’t sandy beaches at the resort or on the island, but the clear blue waters, laying in the hammocks and reading our books and the amazing excursions more than make up for it. We did have some issues with the hot water in our room, but this may have been user error, and the staff was quick to address it. I’m confident it’s no longer an issue. Overall, Belize Reef Escape on St Georges Caye is a fantastic destination for anyone looking for relaxation and authentic Belizean hospitality. Shake Caye is amazing......hands down the best place for tranquility, peace, privacy, unmatched service, delicious food, beautiful rooms, and I could go on and on. From the captain Andre, that's that man, to Rod the bartender, Percy who goes everywhere, Daisy and Glenda who cater to any needs, to all of the staff behind the scenes, you cannot ask for a better staff at a resort! Thank you to All of the Shaka Caye team for the best trip my wife and I have ever had. We will be back and I'd suggest to anyone looking at a smaller all inclusive resort....choose Shaka Caye!!!!
