I could easily walk to different restaurants in the neighborhood, and there is a park across the street that was active and filled with different food stands. The vibe was great. There is also a casino and a very good restaurant on the property too. As for the hotel itself, the room was spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing missing was a refrigerator and maybe a safe, but everything else was great. The best part of the Pickwick was definitely the staff. They were all so polite and helpful and helped me with arranging a guide to take me to the Altun Ha Mayan Ruins and just driving around, showing me much of Belize City. Beautiful hotel, amazing staff and great amenities. The pool is beautiful, no sun until the afternoon though. The hot tub is huge. We did go across to the other hotel for the beach but the water is pretty murky so we didn’t swim there. The room was clean and very comfortable. The restaurants in the area were all good and many are easily walkable. The town is about a 10-15 golf cart ride away. I’d highly recommend a snorkeling tour and a day visit to Caye Caulker.
