"We stopped for the night on our way to the UP. I used to stay here for work many years ago and was pleased to see the many upgrades, particularly the beds."

"I love staying here. 4th time I believe. Quiet and laid back. Just wish the restaurant was open on the days I am there. 5 stars though."

"The room was perfect, the pool was clean and there was so many things to do. The free breakfast was fresh and the Staff was wonderful!"

"It was a great stay!"

"The rooms are reasonably priced, pretty clean and a friendly staff. We like that we can cross the street and the lake is right there."

"Great place"

"Everything including the staff were awesome!"

"The cozy one bedroom hotel turned out to be a windowless closet. Because we objected so strongly to the host he was able to put us into a cottage since we were only staying for the one night. The cottage was acceptable except for the bed ..the picture on the website was not the room they were going to give us. Check-in said tell them you’re renting the front living room . There was just enough room for the bed and the toilet squeezed between two walls."

"We love staying at the Spruce cottage every time we come up to Hubbard Lake. You wake up to find deer right outside and a beautiful sunrise off of the lake. Alpena is only 35 minutes away with plenty of nice restaurants and shopping. What an awesome and cozy place will definitely be coming back. Thanks again for having us"
