Known for its adorable beach cottages in a rainbow of pastels, Crystal Beach is probably the most sought after vacation location in Okaloosa County. Scenic 98 curves past a unique blend of beach homes and hot spots like The Crab Trap -- a tourist favorite! The clouds never seem to hang over Crystal Beach and the sugar white sands appear to shine a little brighter here. Crystal Beach is also home to Destin Commons, an outdoor lifestyle center with restaurants, boutiques, Rave motion pictures and a Bass Pro Shop. It’s often the epicenter of Destin with outdoor musical productions, dog costume contests and fun activities for kids like dancing water fountains and a bungee trampoline. Walk to the beach!! Opal Beach House is only a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach access point. Crystal Beach is a very walkable and bicycle-friendly area, so enjoy the fresh ocean air as you explore the area. ►Other things to note: \- We pride ourselves on a very clean, well-maintained house; the house is professionally cleaned before and after each stay and we have handymen on standby if any issues arise \- Cable TV provided with popular channels \- The primary renter must be a minimum age of 21 years or older to rent this house. We aim to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as it can possibly be! Our mission is to help our guests create beautiful memories with family and friends in our amazing house. For us to do so, we would truly appreciate it if you can follow these house rules. Thank you in advance and we truly appreciate your cooperation! GENERAL. Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. The cleaning service often has a short time between guests to get the house ready for the next guest, so there will be a $50 fee for anyone who has not checked-out by that time. All trash must be removed from the house prior to checking out and placed in the appropriate trash bin. Guests are responsible for placing the trash bins out for pickup during their stay (details provided with check-in instructions). No trash should be placed outside of the bins. Absolutely no smoking inside the house. $500 extra cleaning fee will be assessed. No pets allowed. Please wash your dishes after use. Please load the dishwasher with any dirty dishwasher-friendly dishes and start the dishwasher prior to departure (our cleaners will unload the clean dishes). Any non-dishwasher friendly dishes should be washed and put away prior to departure. Maximum of 14 guests. If you have more than 14 guests, there will be a fee of $75 per extra person or you may be asked to vacate the house immediately with no refund. Please make sure to lock all doors and windows to the house upon checking out. Keep noise to a minimum after 10pm to be respectful of neighboring houses - Opal Beach House is in a residential community and quiet hours will be strictly enforced. Parking is provided on the driveway in front of the garage. Cars should park side by side and not extend out into the road or block the sidewalk. There is NO street parking available. Our driveway is suitable for up to 3 or 4 vehicles, depending on size. No boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, RVs, self-propelled motor homes or similar vehicles may be parked in the driveway. Please return all accessories and remotes to their rightful places at the end of your stay. Please do not rearrange the furniture. If you would like to host an event (i.e. wedding, graduation), please speak with us about it first. Absolutely no parties. If guests are found to have had a party without host permission which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and in the unfortunate event of the disruptions alerting neighbors, guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately without refund. If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately. Please acknowledge that occasionally, we may leave consumables, such as condiments, left behind by previous guests if they are not empty. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale. However, ultimately, it is up to the guests’ discretion and inspection to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any responsibility for the consumables. BBQ GRILL. Guests are responsible for bringing their own propane tank or refilling the tank located at the house. Feel free to use the BBQ grill outside that is set up for our guests’ leisure use only. Please clean up after yourselves and keep the grill clean. We ask that you either use aluminum foil to cover the grill or scrape the grill after each use. Please make sure the grill is off after each use (all knobs turned to the off position). Please make sure propane is also turned off (rotate clockwise until all the way tightened). POOL. The safety of our guests is our top priority! Please follow all posted signs in the pool area. Guests under the age of 18 should have adult supervision at all times while using the pool. No diving. No jumping from any structure or piece of furniture. No running around the pool area. No glass or food in the pool. Guests may bring food in the pool area so long as it is kept outside of the pool itself. House is located in a quiet neighborhood but still close to all amenities including the beautiful beach. House needs a few improvements such as the ice maker was broken and the house needs pest management. Overall it was a pleasant experience. ##### Chezy N. Was good space for everyone to have their own bed and bath. Owner communication was good and timely. However, the pictures listed are not accurate and up to date. The back decking needs replaced. Holes, broken loose and rotting wood. All the trim around the back of house is rusting. Outdoor bar had missing broken tile. Sidewalk around pool isn’t level and ladder loose. Disposal in kitchen broken. Dining room chair broken and table had sticky film. Toilet seats loose. Floors left kids feet black after walking on it first day. The manager John was fantastic. He made sure we were completely satisfied. We loved everything about the property except when you used the oven it was very hard to keep the 1st floor cool. It was close to the beach and the pool was so nice!! My friends and I had no problems and everything was so clean and well taken care of!! Can’t say enough great things about this house. Location was perfect, close walk to the beach and nearby restaurants and stores. House setup was great, everyone had plenty of their own space for sleeping and having 5 bathrooms was awesome. Common areas were ideal for sharing meals, playing games, and hanging out. I would stay here again without hesitation and highly recommend to families with kids. Our teenage sons enjoyed the NBA game and late night swims alone. Our preteen daughters enjoyed the walk to the beach and the early morning swims in the heated pool. The adults loved winding down on the patio under the lights. This house was perfect for what we needed- enough room to be together when we wanted to be and enough room to spread out. We had 6 adults and 4 kids. First thing is that the noise is unbelievably QUIET. That was a special treat. We never heard when people came downstairs or were cooking or anything. It was October so Destin is alot less packed than summer time but the neighborhood was very quiet. It made enjoying the deck and pool a delight. The carriage house was perfect for my parents to stay with us. The beds all got rave reviews which is a rarity for this group. The pool was the perfect size for us and the kids. It looks smaller in the pics. The walk to the beach is super easy- 2 blocks maybe? And you can walk to Publix or ride your bike. So convenient. Really the only drawback to the house for some may be that the top bunk room doesn’t have its own bath so kids have to come down 2 flights to use the half bath or use one of the en-suite baths on the second floor. Depending on your family situation that may be an issue. Since October isn’t the heat of the summer, the temperature in the bunk room was fine using the portable AC unit with the regular AC but I can imagine that in the height of the summer that room might be too hot for some to sleep. Overall though we would definitely go back, no question. It was great! ##### brent l. Had enough space for our vacation of 11 people which included 6 adults, 4 kids ages 2,4,5 & 8 and one 17 yr old. Every one enjoyed the house the kids loved playing in the pool and with the toys out in the pool box. Short walk to the beach, we did take a wagon so wasn't bad for the 2 yr. Overall great place, would go back for sure. Host was very quick to respond when we had ac problem but ended up just being a tripped breaker so all was good. ##### Ginger G. Everything was as promised on the listing. We had plenty of space for everyone. The kids loved the Pirate room on the 3rd floor. The pool was a special treat as some days it was too windy to be at the beach. We used it morning, noon and night. It is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants.
