WiFi, CoveredPatio, CityCenter "By The Bay" is a RESPONSIBLE, QUIET, Establishment & we cannot allow indoor smoking, small children (under 10 yrs old) or any kind of pets. We are not a Party House! We require Peace and Quiet for all of our Guests. We keep a place You can come back to. AT LEAST A TWO-NIGHT STAY is required. Extended stays are welcome. You can also enjoy Whale Watching from our Covered, Wind Protected, Enclosed Patio. We follow all of the special cleaning & disinfecting procedures set by the county and state. "By The Bay" shares one of the most spectacular, ever-changing, Ocean Views on the entire coast with "Tidal Raves", one of the most popular Ocean Front Restaurants. The Wave Action is Unique, Exciting, and Therapeutic, especially during Frequent Winter Storms. We also enjoy our own Marine Garden View during low tides. The Charter Boats come into our view as they find the Whales. The average temperature here on the Central Coast during late Spring through Summer & early Fall is 60 to 70 degrees. We have very few flying insects. This is a People Watchers paradise. You are going to see a lot of people enjoying the very same, special Oceanview & taking their Family Photos & Videos. We offer great value & a most Entertaining, Soothing, Therapeutic, ever-changing Ocean View. Don't forget the ever-changing sky! Besides crashing on the rocks, the waves often come from three different directions & explode together, towering as much as 50+ feet. We have our own Water Geyser, out on the large Rock Formation, looking just like the famous "Spouting Horn", located at the Sea Wall in the central business area of Depoe Bay. During high water, up to 5 waterfalls can flow from that rock formation. Of course, the Ocean puts on a VERY SPECIAL SHOW during the Winter months. Especially during the storms! There are miles of picture-postcard sandy beaches in both directions, within 2 miles both north & south of Depoe Bay. The Local Charter Boats come into our view to Watch the Whales You should plan your visits to the beach before noon because the northern Trade Winds average about 10+ MPH in the afternoon during the summer months. We are allowing a 1 Month's notice for a full refund or a 2 weeks notice for a 50% refund. We have added an Ozone Air Purifier. We are taking additional, special care in our cleaning & disinfecting of all the often-touched surfaces such as counters, chairs, door handles, keypads, bathroom & kitchen surfaces, etc. We wash all our laundry with Hot water using "Tide" with bleach. You may consider bringing your own pillows, for your further comfort. We are centrally located and within easy walking distance to all of Depoe Bay. Our rentals are at least 60' above The Ocean & only 100 yds. from the spectacular rocky shoreline. There is the 1/4 mile Sea Wall & the main part of town to the South. Enjoy Whale watching, either from your vacation home or with any one of the many fine charter boats docked in the World's smallest natural, navigable harbor. Depoe Bay is located in an oceanfront, deep water, rocky coastline area. Dell PC, Win10 operating system, fast WiFi Internet service, There is a large library of books, games, Movies, and music. There is a large full kitchen with all newer appliances. Range/Oven, Refrigerator, Microwave, Dishwasher, small electric appliances, cookware & utensils. Everything you will need for cooking. Our only complaint was we could smell cigarette if we ran the bathroom fan and the smell of pot was overwhelming at night in bedroom. We understand in Oregon it is legal, but do not enjoy the smell at all. No windows or doors were open as it is winter so not sure why the smell would come so strong into the bedroom. Quiet, clean, very comfortable. Great view of the ocean with whales visible from the dining table. The patio is a great place to sit and enjoy a game of cards in the evening. Accommodations were very nice! There were lots of nice amenities such as USB ports in the bedroom lamps, CD’s with a Bose stereo - music of all genres, wonderful view of the ocean, walking distance to lovely shops, nice protected patio with BBQ, excellent parking area. The full kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. It was lovely to meet Walt as well. We felt at home. ##### Carri G. Comfortable bed and a great shower head. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of cleaning supplies. Tidal Raves across the street is our favorite restaurant in Depoe Bay. So easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and activities, and a short drive to Taft and Lincoln City for anything we couldn’t find in Depoe Bay! No cleaning fee was a BIG draw, and the checkout expectations were no more than what we would normally do! So grateful for a simple spot to enjoy our time away without breaking the bank. We found this house and loved it. We have stayed here twice. We can walk the town of Depoe Bay, eat at the wonderful restaurant across the street and watch whales from the patio . If we needed anything all we had to do is let Walt know and he would take care if it quickly. Great view of the bay and the best restaurant for miles is directly across the street. recommend this and the upper unit to anyone. ##### Russell K. Thankfully, because of the double pane windows, traffic sounds were kept to a minimum. The bedroom is at the back of the home with a comfortable bed. There is a nice kitchen with most everything you need for cooking and a gas barbecue set up outside. We especially liked the location and being able to watch grey whales in Depoe Bay. The house was within walking distance to all the shops and several restaurants. The decor in the house was interesting and mismatched but that didn’t matter to us too much! This is the first place I’ve stayed where we had to do the cleaning ourselves but you don’t have to pay a cleaning fee so it works out well. The owner Walt is friendly and responsive to messages. I thought the listing said the bed was a Queen but it was definitely a full so that was a bummer. Overall we would stay here again! ##### Grace W. There were a lot of homey things to choose from while relaxing after a long day of sight seeing; books, music, tv with DVD's. The couch though was VERY uncomfortable, after an hour or so my butt hurt like crazy. The bed was amazingly comfortable tho. It wasn't as clean as I would have liked and expected and then they expected you to do the end of stay housekeeping; sweeping, mopping, cleaning shower, bathroom, stripping the beds, etc. I paid for a host fee and a nightly fee to stay there, I don't expect to have to clean the house, they should have someone to do this. Overall, we had a great time seeing the ocean for the first time. Ocean view is awesome. Owner was very responsive when we couldn’t figure out the TV the first afternoon and made sure it was working when we got back from a day trip the following afternoon. Too much “stuff” (decorations & knick-knacks) for my personal taste. But I’m a minimalist so your mileage may vary! Windows facing the ocean didn’t open so we had to open the front door to hear the waves and get a cross breeze, but there was no screen door so we didn’t leave it open. This was very close to ocean beautiful view. I however booked this 2/3 months in advance for an extended stay with my husband as this was our vacation. So property owners were aware of the length of stay ( 9 days) when arrived everything looked good.. upon further inspection we noticed that there was no broom ( and when asked caretaker for one he simply said we have the bottoms but no handles). Part of the toaster didn’t work, no proper utensils, only 1 big pot to cook in, 1 coffee filter, no extra paper towels etc, we’ve been to enough vrbos to know that yes sometimes they are short on somethings, but not like this, so we had to buy quite a bit to just fuction for 9 days. The fridge was dirty, the house its self was dirty ( cobwebs every where you turned). Ants were a problem from the beginning but chalked it off due to being so close to the ocean etc… but then they were crawling on myself and husband on the couch etc.. we ended up leaving 2 days early ( lost over 300.00 because of that) when messaged the owner told him why we left, he said we should have told caretaker… we did.. I offered some advice for the next couple who stays there and what should be there, I didn’t expect anything back ( meaning money etc..) what I got back was you used cologne and now I don’t know how to get it out? We didn’t use anything except what was provided for cleaning and using spray in the restroom. He has continued to harass me about this. Do not recommend ##### Bonnie Jo D. A few years back, we stayed in the larger upper unit and really enjoyed our stay. It’s an older place but everything was clean and well-maintained. I wish I could say the same for our visit this time in the downstairs unit. I’ll just go with pros and cons and let you make your own decisions. Pros: 1\. The property is in a great location and is walkable. 2\. The price is very affordable. (Book somewhere else in advance and it’ll be nicer.) 3\. It has everything you need but nothing more. 4\. Shower head is tall and has good pressure. 5\. Quiet. Most of the area is though. 6\. Windows in the bedroom open to keep it cool for sleeping. Cons: We didn’t reach out to the host for any issues. There were several and we just decided to not spend our vacation time contacting the host with multiple issues. 1\. The main living space has a great view but gets very warm. (Stayed in August) There are many windows but nothing opens! 2\. Killed multiple spiders and there were ants all over. 3\. The outdoor patio is adorable but is covered in webs and the spiders to go with them. 4\. The house wasn’t clean. I’m the clean freak and my husband said something first. I had to wipe down the bathroom before we could use it. We wore socks always as things stuck to our feet otherwise. This was definitely the worst part. Cleanliness would go a long ways everywhere here and eliminate the pests. ##### Taylor K.
