Hôtel La Maison Créole

10/10 Excellent

"thank you"

Le Relais du Moulin, Hôtel de Charme & Spa

8/10 Good

10/10 Excellent

"We had an awesome time staying at La Toubana! The set up of the resort on the cliff side is very unique….. having a pool up top overlooking the sea and beach below offers the best of both worlds. They have done a great job of making each bungalow feel secluded utilizing the elevation of the cliff and foliage of the land. Bungalow 19 had a great view of a small cover and cliff side but also the southern tip of Basse-Terre in the background. This resort is on the smaller scale and more intimate, if you’re looking for busy nightlife this is not the place. At one point we had the pool to ourselves for close to 2 hours. Drinks and food are a little on the higher end compared to what can be found outside the resort. I would recommend getting a rental car to explore the islands as the resort has free parking. Overall an amazing experience and would totally recommend and even come back!"

Sur la Plage - Club Sainte-Anne

8/10 Good

8/10 Good

What other neighbourhoods are similar to Dampierre?

The best areas similar to Dampierre are Sainte-Anne and Saint-François on Grande Terre, both offering a comparable blend of lovely beaches and local life.

Sainte-Anne is top for its beautiful, calm beaches, particularly Plage de la Caravelle, which is protected by a reef and ideal for swimming. The town centre itself has a lively market where you can find local crafts and produce, and there are plenty of small restaurants serving Creole cuisine along the waterfront. It's a relaxed area, great for families looking for a beach-focused holiday with easy access to amenities.

Saint-François, further east along the coast, is known for its marina, golf course, and a wider selection of upscale dining options. The Plage des Salines, with its fine white sand and turquoise waters, is a highlight.

When is the best time to go to Dampierre?

The best time to go to Dampierre, Grande, Guadeloupe, is during the dry season, which runs from December to May.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days and lower humidity, making it superb for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities. The air temperature typically hovers around 27-29°C, with pleasant sea breezes. This period provides the most comfortable conditions for exploring the island without the higher chance of rain that characterises the wet season.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, visiting in April or May offers a great balance. The peak season crowds from December to March have thinned out, but the weather remains excellent. You'll find it easier to secure reservations at popular restaurants and enjoy more secluded spots on the beaches.

Families travelling with children will also find the dry season ideal. The stable weather allows for uninterrupted enjoyment of the coastline and water sports.
