It is located at the midpoint of the Virginia Creeper Trails 34 mile Trail stretch. It is less than 2 miles from the town of Damascus, Virginia, approximately 9 miles from Abingdon, Virginia and 36 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway. We never did manage to ride our bikes all the way up Vails Mill Rd., but was able to ride once we got closer to the top. Proximity to Creeper Trail was a bonus. The trip from Abingdon to Damascus is an awesome ride or just the ride to Alvarado Station and back is great. Ride in to town, look and shop and come back to the cabin and grill burgers. Evenings can be spent relaxing on the porch or sitting beside the fire pit roasting marshmallows.
