I enjoyed my stay at Balsporran Cottage. Fiona and Geoff are warm and welcoming, and full of stories about the area and places to visit. There was a fire awaiting me each evening, and my room was warm, clean and large with a view onto Munros. Balsporran Cottage is some distance from Dalwhinnie, the nearest village for food, so you need to factor in driving out to have dinner. There are wonderful things to do in easy distance of the cottage, lots of waterfalls, walks, highland attractions, or weather permitting, you could stay put and tackle one or all three of the Munros surrounding the cottage. Fiona cooks up a mean porridge. I had it each morning. The cottage is just off the A9 but the house is well-insulated and you do not hear the road at all.
