"Staff were very helpful and polite. There is limited covered and secure parking for motorcycles but worth booking. Food was good and there is a laundry service that was handy."

"The car park is very big, towing a big trailer or boat is no problem here it’s like a commercial lorry park. The hotel is tucked away enough for the parking to be as off grid safe as possible as well. Food was good and the staff friendly. To sum up I will stay again it’s a good half way stop between Benidorm and Bilbao."

We had a very comfortable stay in a very good room. The menus del dia in the hotel were excellent and the prices were good.
We'd certainly stay here again as it is a convenient stop on the way to/from Bilbao.

The best area to stay in Cucalón is within the village itself, particularly around the central plaza and the immediate surrounding streets.
This well-preserved village offers a genuine glimpse into rural Aragonese life. The main square, Plaza Mayor, is the heart of Cucalón, often bustling with local activity and featuring the historic church of San Lorenzo. The streets radiating from the plaza are narrow and cobbled, lined with traditional stone houses, many of which have been lovingly restored. It's a very walkable area, allowing you to easily explore on foot.
For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll find a few charming guesthouses and rural accommodations that offer a peaceful base. From here, you can enjoy quiet walks through the village, visit the local church, and experience the slow pace of life, perhaps enjoying a meal at a local eatery.
Families will also find the village centre suitable. The open space of the Plaza Mayor provides a pleasant area for children to play, and the absence of heavy traffic makes it a relaxed environment.
When is the best time to go to Cucalón?
The best time to visit Cucalón is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
These periods offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures that are ideal for exploring the natural beauty and historic sites of the region. You'll find the countryside green and blooming in spring, and the autumn brings beautiful colours to the landscape, superb for hiking or leisurely drives.
Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate the quieter atmosphere during these shoulder seasons. You can enjoy the local cuisine and wine without the larger crowds of peak summer, and many of the smaller, family-run establishments are still fully operational.
For those interested in outdoor activities, spring and autumn provide excellent conditions for walking and cycling through the Sierra de Cucalón.
