Great family getaway for Thanksgiving. Enough room for each family to have their own space but still be together. Kids loved the property, fishing and peddle boat. You know it is good when they don’t ask to use any electronics for the week. Great fishing, many first catches on this trip. We had a bit of a plumbing issue but the property owner got it fixed first thing in the morning. Just a great experience for our family.

Wonderful, quiet, wilderness property

My family and I enjoyed the peace and quiet on this property on a lake/pond. It fit my large family quite well and we just wish we had more time to explore.

Beautiful retreat

We had a wonderful stay in the lodge. The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. Our family enjoyed the large grounds and game room quite a lot. I highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a place to spend time with family and friends away from city!

Tons of fun!

We rented this awesome place for a couple nights for a mom/kid trip while the dads were away on a Boy Scout trip. We had so much fun! We spent hours on the lake and outside. The rooms and beds were comfy, great kitchen, and ample things to do!

Birthday celebration

The properly ground was so pretty and peaceful. Very roomy and specious. If you are looking for star gazing and fishing, this is the best place. Location was easy to get to. Game room was a hit with the young adults. I cannot stress how roomy this place is both indoor and outdoor.

Great Place for nature and indoor fun!

This is a great property for large friend or family outings. The host was great communicating, the property was very clean and well maintained, and there were plenty of things to do outdoors or indoors to keep everyone entertained. Shuffleboard, anyone?

5/5 — Absolutely Amazing Stay!We hosted our couples retreat here with six couples, and everything was absolutely amazing! The property was spotless with beautiful aesthetics, and the photos truly don’t do it justice. The lake view, spacious patio, and cozy firepit created the perfect setting for our outdoor movie night.The kitchen had everything we needed to make delicious meals, and we even took advantage of the grill for a fun cookout. (Tip: bring wood for the fireplace and charcoal for the grill so you can maximize your fun!) The game room and bar area were great bonuses that made our weekend even better.A huge thank you to Tommy, our gracious host — he responded quickly, was incredibly accommodating, and made our entire stay seamless. If I could give this property a 100-star review, I absolutely would! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and well-maintained getaway.

VTG Lodge Was Great

We had a great time at the VTG Lodge. The four grandkids loved exploring on the property, fishing, playing on the playground eq. and the great game room. The kitchen was fully stocked and large dining area was comfortable and clean. The big wraparound porch was perfect for sitting outside in the gliders. The Lodge is off the the highway enough to be very quite and private. There is a big charcoal bbq/grill that is perfect for outdoor cooking. The owners were great and answered any questions we had within minutes.

Awesome stay!

We spent Thanksgiving week here with all our family, which was 15 in all. The house is very nice and big! The game room was a blast and the kitchen and dinning area was perfect. BUT the lakes and outdoors was over the top! We caught over 20 bass with the biggest one weighing 4lbs. The swings on the porches were very relaxing. We will stay here again! Cletus the host was great and always fast responding.

Exactly As Advertised!

The lodge and all that comes with it what was exactly what our family needed for one of our spring break weekends. The lodge had everything we needed and the secondary sleeping quarters worked perfectly with our group and allowed for a quieter place to sleep outside of the main lodge. We pretty much utilized the entire facility — fishing was great, the outdoor fire pit and grill worked well, we dined on the front porch multiple times, the manicured grounds allowed for plenty of outdoor fun, and the game room was a blast. I also had to work and utilized the desk set up in the large kitchen / dining area. Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing!!!!

We rented this property for Memorial Day weekend and my husband's 50th birthday. We had 10 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of room for more! The fishing was amazing!!!! The property is gorgeous and clean. We had everyrhing we needed and more. During the hot hours we spent time in the bar/game room area. We walked the property, neighborhood, fished, played games, bird watched, and relaxed. The owners where amazing to deal with and communication was on point at all times! We would stay here again for sure!

The house was wonderful alot of room. Game room was perfect. Beds were also great loved the feather pillows. Kitchen served purpose for the cooking we did together. Alot of indoor and outdoor games provided. Had rain but patio area kept us from getting wet .The whole family wants to go back next year.

Family Retreat

We LOVED our stay! We had myself, my 3 siblings, their significant others, their children, and our parents all stay for a weekend. The kids are young, 7 of them 5 years and under. Everyone had a blast!!! The living room and game room combo is perfect for large groups. Everyone had space to sit or play. The kitchen was perfect, too, with the 2 large tables. We actually could all eat in one room together!The mattresses at this place- I'm not kidding when we all agreed they were by far the best mattresses we've ever slept on away from home. Super comfortable.The property itself is made for huge groups. The large wrap around porch and fire pit are very welcoming. The kids loved the playground and it got out all of their energy.We brought several water features to beat the heat (slip n slide, water slide, splash pad). Texas summer is tough, I honestly would love to come back when it's spring or fall to have enjoyed outside more.Tommy's communication is unmatched. With such a large group, we had a lot of small questions before the booking, leading into the weekend, and while we were there. He was always welcoming and quick to respond. If you are deciding between this stay and another, pick this one! We have no regrets.
