Crannog Ales

Property is in a great location and the room was large and clean. We expected it to be noisy given location and it was, although the hotel supplied earplugs. Staff were fantastic and helpful. The property however is quite dated and in poor repair. For example our bathtub had some sort of melamine painted on the bottom and it was peeling off chunks whenever we showered. The drain also did not drain so that was a rather disgusting experience. The main patio door would not physically close properly so it could not be shut all the way nor locked, which was a little disconcerting. I had to call for an iron as the room didn't include one, which was unusual. The hallways were pretty dungy as well... just years of spills and drunken guests. Overall - it's not bad but needs a reno - too many years of being a party hotel and the wear and tear has taken it's toll. If you do book, consider this hotel a 3 star not a 4 star as advertised - I think that was my largest issue. If you are coming up for a ski trip with friends its a perfect spot to be the "host" room. If you want a romantic weekend getaway, not so much.

Great layout and the kitchen was well stocked with essentials.
