"I donâ€™t know if a review is needed as day 2 of our stay a for sale board appeared outside! Room sizes great. As November we didnâ€™t use the outside facilities. Kitchen was well equipped. The radiator in the family bathroom a friend burnt herself. It does get red hot so be careful. We struggled a bit with the heating as it was really cold at the beginning and then extremely warm. "The cottage is a bit tired but well equiped, clean and comfortable. The instructions to find the key were terrible! it says get them from a key safe padlocked to the front railings at the front of the house and they were at the back, attached to the house. "What an absolute delight it was to stay in such an historic, enchanted building. Simon the proprietor was warm, friendly and welcoming as were all the staff. The entire place was just oozing with character and personality. Being a well travelled veteran of various suites globally, I would personally rank " The Tree Inn" as one of the most memorable I have ever stayed in. Will most certainly be back."

"An initial, disappointing start to our stay was quickly remedied, quietly, politely and professionally. From then on everything was so much better. The Hotel is probably a little understaffed (a reflection of the economic strains of current hospitality?) so often a Team member had to be searched out but once found were polite, attentive and friendly. Our room, a late booking so limited choice, was compact but nevertheless comfortable with an excellent rain shower in the bathroom and a good view of the river. We found a delightful lounge on the first floor from which we could watch the world go by as the river ebbed and flowed whilst enjoying the occasional glass of beer, or two!! Dinner on each night was a lovely occasion in a stylish dining room, well cooked food, nicely presented and served by delightful staff."

"This hotel is in a fantastic location with beautiful walks along the shore. The hotel is clean, sophisticated and comfortable. The staff were almost all very friendly, kind and helpful. The food was very nice - excellent breakfasts especially. The only downsides are that the pool is freezing. Also information on the room specification was misleading ‘shower/bathtub combination’ logically made me think we would have a bathtub with a shower over the top. As a part of an expensive seaview room, I really wanted a bath and the information given made me believe this is what we would have instead of the shower which I found in our room. Otherwise I would not have booked that room. I was told on arrival by the hotel manager that I should have made a special request for this before arriving (which made it seem like this was my fault). She told me that there was nothing she could do about it because they were fully booked and that next time, I needed to request this to avoid being disappointed. No other attempts to make up for this or to at least accept that the information given had been misleading were made. The rest of the kind and welcoming staff and our stay there made up for this rude and unkind interaction and we had a nice time but this did taint the trip for us and better customer service could have avoided us feeling disappointed and told off."

"Most enjoyable stay, the room we had was spacious and beautifully decorated with a view of the river, and the bed was the softest we had ever slept in! Staff were really lovely and helpful, and made us feel very welcome from the beginning of our stay. Breakfast was especially good but the main menu was somewhat limited although of high quality, There was a small car park on site, and plenty of on-road parking although this was very busy during the day. However there was a large quay-side carpark opposite the hotel so there were no problems with parking. Will definitely return and cannot recommend them highly enough."
